Not a huge shocker and not really a prospect for this class anymore. Kahlil Whitney is leaving UK so he is done for the year.

Sam Vecenie's (The Athletic) first round picks if anyone is interested:

1 Anthony Edwards, Georgia G 18 6-4 6-8
2 LaMelo Ball, Illawarra Hawks G 18 6-6 N/A
3 Cole Anthony, North Carolina G 19 6-3 6-4
4 James Wiseman, Memphis C 18 7-1 7-6

9 Tyrese Haliburton, Iowa State G/W 19 6-5 N/A
10 Jaden McDaniels, Washington F 18 6-10 N/A
11 Onyeka Okongwu, USC F/C 18 6-8 7-0
12 Isaac Okoro, Auburn W 18 6-6 6-9

14 R.J. Hampton, New Zealand Breakers G 18 6-5 6-6
15 Isaiah Stewart, Washington W 18 6-6 7-1
16 Precious Achiuwa, Memphis F 19 6-9 7-2
17 Kira Lewis Jr., Alabama G 18 6-3 6-6

20 Tre Jones, Duke G 20 6-2 6-3
21 Josh Green, Arizona W 19 6-5 6-10
22 Saddiq Bey, Villanova W 20 6-7 N/A
23 Aaron Nesmith, Vanderbilt W 20 6-5 6-10
24 Xavier Tillman, Michigan State F/C 22 6-9 7-1
25 Daniel Oturu, Minnesota C 20 6-10 7-2
26 Matthew Hurt, Duke F 19 6-9 6-11
27 Zeke Nnaji, Arizona C 19 6-10 7-1
28 Cassius Winston, Michigan State G 22 6-1 N?A
29 Joel Ayayi, Gonzaga G 19 6-5 6-10
30 Vernon Carey, Duke

Scottie Lewis keeps falling in most mock drafts. He is 44 now on Vecenie's (was in the 20s before I think). He also has Oscar Tshwiebe all the way at 52, not sure I see him going THAT low.

From what it sounds like, he plans on going through the draft process. I wouldnt be shocked if he "transfers" then goes through the draft process and makes his decision then.

I would love to hear anyone try and make the argument for any team using a 1st round pick on Matthew Hurt. Even as a massive Duke homer I cant do the mental gymnastics to do that one.

Ya Im sure he is hoping that he can be the Little of this class. Really forgettable freshman season, but still getting drafted just off of physical ability. Whitney is 6'7 with a 7 foot wingspan with really good athleticism and solid frame to put on muscle. Add in this draft is viewed as really weak, Im sure he is hoping he can shine in workouts. Im sure some team would take a flyer on him in the 2nd round.

Likely, best to give it a shot now and get in while he has a decent chance of landing on a roster. Transferring and having to be the guy when he may not have the skillset for it just yet could be detrimental to stock with what's coming down the line. Sucks, thought there could be some promise there coming into the season.

Yeah, and Little had a hype around him right before college that Whitney never even remotely had.

lol i remember that hype. He was supposed to the only prospect with any shot at derailing the Dukies getting drafted 1,2,3.

Ya don't get me wrong, I'm not saying Whitney is as good as Little (I've never been high on him). Just me assuming what Whitney is probably hoping for. My guess he is hoping with it being a weak draft, he could get a 2nd round grade. 2nd round is much better than going through the entire transfer nonsense.

QG is a bit more developed to handle that a bit better I think that Whitney is. Can you see Khalil as primary anything anywhere right now?

Ya I think Whitney's best route is just hoping to get drafted off of raw potential. Not sure Whitney being the guy on like a mid major would be his best route.

So many better prospects not even listed on his 1st round mock makes me completely disinterested in his value trees.
I mean Maxey in the lottery...Winston in the first...maledon getting drafted...uhg.
Where is Nolley,Ramsey,Pritchard, Agbaji, Smith, hell even Baylor's Butler is clearly a 1st rounder

Reggie Perry is underrated. First round pick.
