Im all aboard the Konate sleeper train. Was a little curious to see how small he was going to measure out. But the good wingspan and solid standing reach, Im all aboard. My 3 sleepers in this draft are Konate, Battle and Duval.

Am I the only one who thinks it's crazy that there are like 9 PGs projected to be picked before Tony Carr?

Give me Carr > Duval, Brunson and Anfernee Simmons

All three good picks, IMO.

Okogie is winning this combine. He should stay in the draft.

Carr and Simmons aren't PGs whatsoever

also Tony Carr doesn't have much that will translate in my view

The hidden PG gem here is Carsen Edwards

Lol what?

I'll give you Anfernee, but Tony Carr is definitely a point guard. He was the key cog for that Penn State team, he was the one running point on nearly every possession while he was on the floor

He’s not a point guard in the NBA. Doesn’t have the first step or speed.

I love Konate for what he is, but is that more than a good, defensive backup 5? I'm a fan but not sure how high I'd take him. Early 2nd for me.

He's still a kid and will need some time to get his body ready for the NBA. I think nbadraft's comparison of him with Joseph Young is kind of close, though Simons is more of a SG than a PG. Though coming off college / highschool, Simons has a better boom potential.

OKC will need to work it's magic to get into the first round.

Thanks

Definitely wouldn’t compare him to Joe Young. Young is tiny in comparison, is no where near as quick or athletic and generally not as skilled in terms of footwork and feel. Joe is an iso player, Anfernee is a transition player.

NBAdraft.net says that Hutchison promised at 22 and Mitchell Robinson at 25. Disappointing.

What about first cut your freaking Elfrid Paytonesque hairstyle? Makes him look very stupid. He should not focus on looks and just focus on basketball.

What's funny is that I had lunch with Terrence Ross' agent yesterday. We talked about every possible scenario. Toronto never came up.

To whom would you compare him to?

I agree with what you are saying about quickness and athleticism, Simons is the better athlete among the two. However, they are almost exactly of the same build, with Simons having a only a 2" difference on wingspan. Simon just looks way longer than measured because of his athleticism.

About their type of game, I beg to differ. It is hard to gauge Simons because he doesn't have as much experience as Joe Young. Sure, he looks good in highschool, Young did too. Actually, Young was exceptional at Yates. I don't really see Simons as a transition type of guy, unless he breaks free. Most of the time, he does iso. If he's not playing iso, he's moving without the ball and usually his teammates would find him open for jumpers. If he went to college, he'd probably had the same role as Joe Young - an undersized shoot first scorer who's assists are more from in-game play than from playmaking.

Looking at how his game will translate into the NBA, the comparison to playmaking guards can be shelved for now (He just isn't there yet, or he may never be one). He's in the mold of undersized scoring SG's who aren't pure point guards, but can play PG if needed. I initially have Keyon Dooling and Charlie Bell for my ceiling and floor comparisons, but Keyon seems a little quicker and Charlie Bell is less skilled. I liked the Joe Young comparison the best and I don't mean it to be an insult. Joe Young was incredible in highschool and college. He is just not getting enough playing time to even make notable contributions. But he did well in limited minutes. And I don't really see Simons making significant strides in his first few years in the league to demand decent playing time. Until then, he could be looking at a very similar role to Joe Young, unless of course he ends up on a tanking team that can give him developmental minutes.

I saw that.. find it hard to believe the Bulls would promise a guy this early in the process, and at 22, there's sure to be better guys available. Bulls are usually pretty tight-lipped as well with this stuff.

The guy standing next to him Vesely is listed at 7 ft. Has doncic grown a few inches. Sure looks like it. He might be simmons height once he enter the league. Amazing.

I know he's a dropout candidate but Bitadze looks pretty underrated right now. He's 18 until July and putting up some very solid per minute stats in Adriatic
