I'm a bulls fan but I'm still wary if he will be a high floor low ceiling kind of player. Luka will make the people around him better but can he be the one to carry a team during crunch time?

But kudos to him for playing like a man for an 18 year old in one of the best league outside the US.

I'm still not convinced.I mean he scores more,he's the best teen ever in euroleague etc..But my main issue with him remains and it just wont go away.he's just relatively slow, heavy footed, lacks the explosiveness for an nba mega star. He's pretty much reached his ceiling.I dont expect Doncic in 5 years to be much different player than who he is now.Is that enough for a number one pick?I dont know

The thing is, we thought the same in 2015/16, before 2016/17 season and before this season.

All 3 times Luka basically crushed those "predictions" and showed substantial improvement, not just in production and stats (that was expected; obvious), but even just by looking how his body moves.

I don't think it's wise to make the same mistake again and assume again that he's close to his ceiling and that he's not going to improve much more. Let's first wait for like 2 straight years of stagnation without much improvement, before calling his ceiling.

How can he as 18 year old reach his ceiling. Physically he is still 5 years behind if not more. He is constantly improving and you are stating that he reached his ceiling. Your statment is not just wrong is just dumb im sorry.

I don't think anyone here said that he will be NBA mega star 100%. We are just saying that he has potential to become an All star at least.

If Markannen can play 4, I think Bamba would be perfect, but Doncic is fine rebound.

Doncic is making progress month to month and you say he is close to his ceiling or mabye even reached it already.

When he stops improving then you can say he reached his ceiling and even that is not 100%. Baskeball players reach their prime at around 26-27, thats 8 years away for Doncic. He has tons of work to do on his body and I am sure NBA coaching will help tremendously.

Hope he doesn't end up on a team with incompetent front office. He's a born winner, it'd be a shame to see him waste away in Sacramento or Chicago.

The Bulls could really use Doncic next to Markkanen. Lopez, Lavine, Dunn and Holiday could be solid pieces around them as well, I feel.

Hawks are a mess right now and as long as they are keen on building around Schröder I don't want Doncic there. Schröder is too ball-dominant for Doncic to truly blossom and although trading Schröder could become an option, the Hawks might prefer to pick one of the big men as there are no fit issues with them to be expected.

The Kings, meh, not so sure. He could work with Fox but it's far from ideal. Given that I'm not as high on Fox as many others I'd just say build around Doncic and see if Fox can manage to be effective next to him without being the primary ball handler but the rest of the team is also very mediocre. WCS, Skal, Bogdanovic – solid pieces in terms of fit but nothing that is particularly exciting. Not too worried about the fit between Doncic and Hill but with Fox in the mix it seems to be a little crowded.

I'd like to see him on the Knicks but that's a long shot at this point. But Ntilikina, Hardaway and Porzingis are good pieces around him. Phoenix has some nice pieces around him in theory but what they need first and foremost is a defensive identity – although they also badly need to establish a winning culture and that's where Doncic could help tremendously. Dallas, Boston or LA I'd rather not see him going although I'd definitely prefer Dallas if I had to choose between them.

Same, if he was 6'9 and not 6'7, he's my #1 guy all day everyday but at 6'7 with decent length, I am not sold he has the tools needed to be a superstar in the NBA. He can be a great scorer who can pass but unlike he's playing PG and someone else he's playing with is defending them, color me a confused and unsure in this case. I love the skills and the vision and the shooting but I haven't seen one of these white euro SG's become anything in the NBA other than just a shooter who can score.

That's going to be difficult since lottery teams are usually in the lottery for a reason.

Even the Nets pick now belongs to the Cavs. Sigh.

Mavs probably the only truly competent ones, followed by the Hawks, who are semi-competent, but not a good fit with Schroeder (who I think is overrated) there.

This has been my biggest worry since the beginning. He really needs to either be the focal point of the offense, or at least play in a very team-oriented one.

But if he ends up next to a ball-dominant player, especially if it's a PG, it would drastically limit his offensive game. Sadly that's the majority of the NBA, so he's going to have to be extremely lucky. That's the sad and somewhat cruel thing about NBA's draft system.

He'd be a fun fith alongside Smith. Dennis is obviously a work in progress himself but in theory his explosiveness off the dribble might be as good as a fit for Doncic as it was playing alongside a nifty PnR guard like Dragic.

Carlisle loves to have two ballhandlers out there preferably 48 minutes of every game. He'd fit in very well with us I believe.

Fox-Bogdan-Doncic is very promising

No offense, but I hope he doesn't go there. I know there's a lot of optimism among the fans, but I don't see Kings doing any serious damage with their core in the future. Worse, I think they will be in a persistent limbo, not bad enough for top draft picks and not good enough to be a contender. Not long ago I was reading fans' predictions how they see current Kings players developing into their prime and I was thinking they must be smoking something really good. Kings basically have 6 future AS players on their roster and 3 HOFs. :)

Well if he is as good as some users on here say he is, then he should have no problem being a franchise player in the NBA. I got bad news for you. The teams picking in the top 5 are bad teams. Nothing will change that.

Damn Real cant catch a break with injuries. First Ayon got injured and at the end of the game it looked like Luka sprained his ankle. First flu, now this, it didnt look too serious, so hopefully he'll be at 100% soon.

Who is debating this? I've seen some say play him at PG but never the 2. Personally, I think he is a 3/4.
