Players he reminds me of:

Carlos Boozer
Kris Humphries
Paul Milsap
Blake Griffin

Not an all-star or even close. Will be a solid starter in the NBA but nothing more

Better rebounding Brandon Bass.

To me he is a cross between a rich man's Kenneth Faried and Paul Milsap.

One concern is that all of these player comparisons aren't all-stars and some aren't even close.

Don't understand why this guy is a top 5 pick. I see him as a mid-late lotto

then your assumption would be wrong. the number is closer to 2 than 3.

Is there a ton that separates him from Jordan Hill. I think Robinson's mobility and hands are better and he's more jacked (I can't remember ever being "more out" on a consensus top 5 prospect than Hill and I know I like Robinson more than that)... but still...

I was being sarcastic, obviously only a few "all-star" type player come from the top 5-7 each year.

But why would you take a player that you know has very little change of being an elite player?

The majority of the elite players in every draft come from the top 5ish in each draft so if you have one of those picks, you should walk away from that pick saying "I think we have an all-star/elite player"

Are you confident in saying that if you take T-Rob there?

He will be a good but not great PF who needs a solid P&r PG to set him up. His best bet would be Detroit or Cleveland.

it's all relative. how many all-star/elite types are there at all in this yr's lottery? not many. this isnt a high end draft. the lotto is pretty much anthony davis and then a bunch of interchangeable players.

t-rob is a great athlete, but young mcdyess was one of the freakiest athletes i've ever seen at that position. mcdyess was a little raw coming out, but he always played under control, within his limitations.
t-rob's game is a lot more reckless. he's more of an energy, hustle guy who outworks the opposition and wills the ball into the hole.

Cleveland's got Tristan Thompson from last year's draft, if they snag him on draft night however, a trade should be in the works.

I think Cleveland would like a more volume scorer in Bradley Beal than Robinson.

I think he's got the potential to be a Horace Grant/Dennis Rodman level big man talent, i.e. 3rd best player on a championship team. A lot depends on his defensive development once he reaches the league.

I think McDyess is a best case scenario. Jordan hill is a worst case
