Makes sense, although his athleticism gives him a little higher ceiling.

TJ was terrific as a rookie but was never the same after he was injured.

Huh, he peaked in 07 and especially 08 before Horford, as a 18-20 PER player and legitimate starter (including 2nd best player on a 47 W team). I would say 09 Ford was starting caliber too. If Larkin could get to that productivity without the medical red flags, he'd be worth top 10 in this draft.

I don't love the comparison though because I think Larkin projects as a better perimeter shooter than Ford, but doesn't have his speed. The combine is misleading, Larkin is a good but not freakish athlete

None of the guys being mentioned shoot off the bounce like Shane does.

In fact, it's the Achilles heel of everyone that has been mentioned in comparison to Shane.

Yeah, I see his ability to run the pick and roll a elite ability, too.

The difference between TJ Ford and Shane Larkin is that Larkin can shoot. He's a little bigger, too.

The thing people don't realize about Larkin is that he is also a very pesky defender and rebounder. That might diminish a bit in the NBA, but then again it didn't for Chris Paul.

I'll buy the TJ Ford comparisons. But using Chris Paul is just ridiculous. Shane hasn't shown anything close to indicating he can be one of those few freak sub 6'1 guys who excel at the next level, as Paul did at Wake Forest. Both DID play 2 years inthe ACC. Larkin played more games 68 vs 63. But Chris Paul had 395 assists, Larkin 245. Paul had 245 rebs, Larkin 218. Paul had 948 pts, Larkin had 760. Paul shot 47.3%FG, Larkin shot 43.7. Paul shot 47.0 on 3s, Larkin shot 37.5. Paul shot 83.7% FTs, Larkin shot 80.7.

I'm not conviced Shane is even a Darren Collison - who outscored, out assisted out shot him, and led HIS team to back back Final Fours (and a 3rd as a 22 minute a game frosh 6th man).

Not that that's all that bad - DC's started 219 of his 296 games in his 4 years in the NBA...But I'll be very surprised it Shane comes close to the 12 pts 5 assist averages Collison has posted when he's heading into HIS 5th year in the league.

I wouldn't dare say that Shane Larkin will be anything close to CP3, but to use their totals for two seasons when comparing the twosome's college statistics is misleading.

Too lazy to look, but I bet Shane and CP3's sophomore seasons compare favorably.
