I don't think the acquisition cost would be worth it for Utah. They should quietly draft Schroeder under the radar.

No, they're in a good position to just grab someone like Larkin, Wolters, Green, etc. at a later pick. The gap between them and Burke isn't worth giving up huge value for

Not if it means giving up Kanter or Favors. When you have to young bigs that look extremely promising that compliment each other well, you keep them. Favor's floor is somewhere around a double double with 2 blocks with starter minutes.
AA is at best a 3rd option on a contending team, they have the cap space to sign any sg they want. He has more value to a contending team than a rebuilding team. I don't think he has more value than the 2 1st to Utah, since they have the cap space to sign another sg.
So it basically comes down to Favors for Burke to me. I'm high on Burke and thing he will be a solid starting point guard, in the Jrue Holiday/Lillard tier. But the point guard position is extremely deep so trading big for small doesn't make much sense. Especially in the case of a semi proven big for a non proven point guard.
If they want to move up for Burke, cap space+ Burks+14 is the best bet for them.

Jazz aren't going to trade Favors for any1 in this draft, he would be the #1 pick if he enters this draft by a long shot.
Alec Burkes + their 2 1st round picks can do something.

If the Jazz do this trade you know they absolutely love McCollum in workouts, I give it a slim to no chance of happening. Also good chance Detroit likes Bazz enough that they decline it themselves.

Re: Should Utah trade for Burke?
I don't see the Jazz doing this. There's absolutely no reason for them to trade away their two most valuable assets (Favors + cap space) for Burke and Afflalo. Then you think they should throw in both 2013 picks as well? Crazy.
I think their plan is to keep both picks, hand the team over to the young guys they have, not sign anyone significant in the offseason and see what they can do. With a weak bench and a bunch of guys 22-years old and younger I doubt they'll win more than 26-28 games, even if some individual players have breakout seasons.
26-28 wins next year should put them in position to grab one of Andrew Harrison or Marcus Smart or some other guy in the top 6.

Definitely no reason to give up Favors or Kanter.
They have missed the boat in not moving Jefferson or Millsap. Really crazy stuff since the Deron trade. The picks turned out fine/should turn out fine but their other moves have been non-existent.

Not a Cavs fan but i do think trading the 1st pick overall for an emerging star and a lower pick is the best option for Cleveland. Let the others have the risk of acquiring the big name rookies and settle for proven quantity.
I'd be very impressed if Cleveland can pull something like that on draft day.

Favors is worth way more than the #2 pick by himself. He's worth way more than the #1 by himself.

Re: Should Utah trade for Burke?
I wouldn't trade Favors or Kantor for anyone in this draft. But, if I really liked Burke you could see how far a package of both picks and Burks would allow you to move up. I could see Trey Burke becoming a Mike Conley level pg. The big question to answer, does he have the ambition and drive to get that much out of his talents. Utah has always been a patient organization so if the guy has the intangibles and they haven't totally wiffed on the talent evaluation things will work out.
In moving up for Burke Utah has three untouchable pieces (Hayward, Favors, Kantor). If they can move up far enough to get Burke without giving up the core young guys I'd say go for it. IF not your on to plan B for this draft.

I think Kanter is worth roughly the same as Noel and McLemore; Favors is by far worth more than the #1, this deal is horrendous for Utah. Moving up for Burke is intriguing but they sure as hell shouldn't have to pay Favors to get him.
I think Burks the 14 and the 21 could get them up to 6, but that feels a little steep to me.

Re: Should Utah trade for Burke?
I guarantee the jazz will at least try to package Burks with the 14th pick to try to move up in the draft. Otherwise we draft Schroeder at 14. Trading Favors is out of the question.
