Yeah there are a couple of REALLY talented young players in Europe right now. Players like Kristaps Porzingis, Mario Hezonja, Jusuf Nurkic, Lovro Mazalin, Dragan Bender or the greek 7' who plays in High School now Georgios Papagiannis are all super talented.

I hoped to see Porzingis, Nurkic or Hezonja in this game. The world team would have been so much more interesting.

I have seen Nurkic and Hezonja, not familiar with the others. I was looking at Eurohopes rankings. Only guy Mikhailiuks age ranked ahead of him is Georgios Papagiannis. Guy looks pretty damn good as well. Im going to have to start looking into more international players.

Wow this kid is one of the most ambidextrous players Ive ever seen. At one point I thought he was left handed.

Slav going to Kansas prolly puts him there for a couple years before he hits the league with Seldon and Oubre there.

I was hoping Hoiberg or Beilein could snatch him, if he doesn't sign with a pro club (which is what i expect)

Wings are shackled in Self's system. I really would rather Mykhailiuk not go there, as he'll just a be a spot-up shooter and he's got more ability than that.

Also, I expect Oubre to underwhelm there b/c of Self's reluctance to move the bigs out of the paint for more than a few possessions. A slashing, playmaking SF with a questionable shot is not going to thrive. I'm not talking about changing his system entirely, but when the system's restrictions have led to unnecessary losses, maybe it's time to tweak it a bit to utilize your team's wings in a larger capacity.

him going to college is just a rumor, a recent one at that. nobody knows where or even if he'd attend college in the US.

also, the self/kansas excuses are lame. if he had a wing with the skillset to be utilized as a good slasher and playmaker, he would use him as such. his system is NOT strictly about post play. he does have dribble weave, ball screen and curl action in his system as well and he allows his teams to get out, run and attack early.

I guess his parents are both teachers, fluent in English and all. Anyone think staying in the the Eukraine is a bright idea?

Not sure what I expected from the kid in the Nike gameseeing as he's equal to a soph or junior age wise. Had some nice looks that didn't fall but moved real well. My guess would be a major coup for some team. Not quite ready to put him in the Manu, Drazen class.

he doesn't have to stay in the ukraine. he could continue on a pro path. some good team in europe likely has an offer lined up for him.

Totally agree. Talk seemed to be that college was something that he was interested in.

Madrid is trying to secure him too.
I think for him is better to go to a prep school and then to college, be in the 2015 HS class.

UVA has been flying out to see him for a year and were working on his eligibility before NHS so that he could come in 2014.

Michigan, Kansas, SMU, and to a lesser extent, Oregon have entered his recruitment.

Not that recent. Last summer when Real Madrid showed interest in him after the u16 eurochamp i already read his (or his parents' / advisers' / whoever's) intention was heading to the US to play in college.

Looks like Slav had a pretty average outing; I love his ability to get to the line.
