Terrible comparison. Only similarity is that they both lack in creating shots for themselves. Wiggins is miles ahead of Barnes as an athlete and as a defender.

Why can't they? Kansas is about winning NCAA titles not producing NBA stars.

Winning titles? If it wasnt for Memphis chocking away the title back in 2008, Kansas last title would be 1988. They do have a lot of bust players over the past few years.

Wiggins is vastly overrated as a defender. Obviously he has the tools to be the very best defender in the league, but he was not a great defender at Kansas this past season. His engagement level drifted.

I actually really like this comparison but while more raw/a little better athlete, the main issue/factor is their drive/killer/instinct/feel for the game and whether or not they can consistently translate it at the NBA level. Barnes is definitely more a worst case scenario in regards to Wiggins but a good case study that should make people think a little more critically about his draft position/project-able success at the next level.

Wiggins reminds me DeMar Dorozan coming from college.

Barnes was a better shooter, stronger, and a better finisher than Wiggins his freshman year, but he scored slightly less on worse efficiency. Why? Because he didn't get to the line like Wiggins, he just sat back and launched one pull-up midrange jumper after another.

With Barnes, the criticism about his handles was well-warranted. He could not get to his spots on the floor. Wiggins is the opposite, he gets to the rim at will and just needs to work on finishing through contact.

The knocks on Wiggins handles are getting out of control. His dribble is already as good as most NBA SFs, and he showed rapid growth in that area between his junior year at Huntington and this past season. That is the last thing I'd worry about with him.

Wiggins has had a reputation of playing down to his opponents since high school. I'm not counting on his college performance to predict his NBA performance. He's a lockdown defender when he's engaged.

I'd disagree with that as well. MKG can't shoot anything, Wiggins has a dependable mid range game. And Wiggins is much much quicker than MKG.

I hope everyone thinks Wiggins will end up being a bust so he can fall to 20.

I bet Wiggins makes more all-star teams than Barnes ever does.

I hope the first 6 teams in the draft think Wiggins will be a bust, too, so the Lakers can take a risk on him at #7.

Wiggins is in a different tier athletically.

If Wiggins fails as a scorer, he will still be an elite defender and plus rebounder. Wiggins could disappoint, but he's not going to bust imo.

Wiggins has the kind of explosive game and first step that can really expand at the NBA level. Barnes' didn't and hasn't.

It's funny Barnes was hyped so much as the next great SG of the future, when from what I've heard ... he played primarily PF in highschool. It's the kind of misconception we see often with these kids ... like people assuming Kyrie was a natural PG when he played primarily SG in highschool.

I don't know about that. MKG is a pretty fast and explosive guy.

Jeff Green, Harrison Barnes, Wes Johnson... Wiggins could very well end up being a better version of any of these guys..

He could also end up being a Hall of Famer.
