Hee was regarded as a project on offense, though.

Also, regarding MKG/RHJ: RHJ's shot mechanics look much much better than MKG. Will be way easier to fix.

I think when you're selecting in the 20s you're rarely expecting to pick an All Star caliber player.

RHJ seems like a hard working guy with excellent tools. He has good size for the 3 spot, excellent length (7'2 wingspan), is very athletic and takes pride for his defense. Every team likes to have a guy like him. If he manages to improve his shot and range, he'll probably become a starter (even a borderline allstar player) and if he doesn't, he'll still be a quality role player or at the very least a useful niche player.

I'm a huge fan of him as a prospect. Brilliant value at 23.

No, Michael Kidd-Gilchrist is considerably stronger/bigger, and is much better on offense.

Yep, but MKG has a bigger build to deal with bully ball SFs like Lebron and Carmelo.

HeartBreakKid wrote:Yes, MKG was a huge overhyped monster, basically was mocked to go #1 in the 2013 draft by a gigantic amount - when he declared for 2012 I remember it rocked the world. Was by himself at #2 spot, pretty much no one else challenging his tier in most people's perspectives. Really a case of no one thinking critically about MKG and kinda just going along with the hype.

I like RHJ a lot though, MKG is turning into a fine player - I think RHJ can certainly have similar impact. Don't think he's quite the athlete MKG is, but he can be a big time defender.

None of that first paragraph is true. MKG was an elite high school prospect. There was never any question whether he would be one-and-done, so he was never listed in any 2013 mocks, much less appearing at #1. Similarly, his decision to declare in 2012 didn't "rock the world" any more than Anthony Davis's decision.

He was also never considered on a tier by himself at #2. If anything was a surprise, it was that he went that high. Thomas Robinson was the consensus #2. Some mocks had Bradley Beal. Most mocks had MKG at 3 or 4.
