Team Canada wants Murray to play for them this summer but UK is apparently not budging on that date. Cal is lobbying hard for a compromise but not sure there will be one reached. I can't see Murray giving up 6 months of basketball for 2 weeks but some UK people have said it's a possibility Murray may choose to play for Canada then play overseas for a year or just prepare for the draft.

Ugh that would be a huge bummer. Hope Kentucky figures it out.

Announced today that Murray will not play for Canada at FIBA Americas and will be leaving them team in the next day or two. Either Kentucky of the NCAA has demanded he get to Lexington.

At least he got a training camp in with the guys.

He looks kind of slow tbh. His body size compares to Harden as ASU and HS but w/o the quickness.

I seem some Harden as well. Harden being LH helps though I think, its deceptive

Jamal is left handed as well.

Harden had athleticism question marks coming into the league as well, which he put to rest and looked much more athletic once in the league. I think Jamal can do that as well to some degree as he's pretty damn good athletically in things that matter. Things like agility, body control, moving with the basketball, etc... The major difference physically is that Harden has pretty damn good physical #'s, like wingspan and height. Murray not so much.

That said, there aren't many guards in the league these days that do have Harden's size, athleticism, and physical profile. Murray's combo of size, skill, and athleticism is still pretty unique and are things that should help him excel in the NBA. At PG he has great size, scoring, versatility, ball IQ, and good athleticism. Having a hard time seeing how he doesn't turn into a great NBA player.

Sigh

Russell wasn't Harden and neither is Murray. Does not have the kind of bull strength... not sure why people don't understand that when comparing these guys to Harden and Roy. I saw someone say Lilliard and I think that Murray is somewhere between that Brandon Knight - Damian Lillard spectrum.

Harden didn't really have athleticism 'question marks'--he was projected as an average to good athlete, just not a standout one. I remember seeing almost none of Harden's games until after the season, looking at some mixtapes and thinking that he looked spry and strong and quick, easily a NBA athlete.

I'm not sure, I remember back during the pan-ams reading that he's left handed but didn't put much more thought into it than that. A quick Google search basically turns up that he's ambidextrous and shoots just as well with his left as right, so scratch what I said earlier. Basically, sounds like he's really good with his left hand as well, which I think is a good thing.

I watched probably 20 or so of Harden's games when he was in Arizona, and followed him pretty intently (as I wanted the Raptors to draft him). There were definitely people questioning his athleticism coming out of college. You can't really base someones athleticism off highlights. He looked much more athletic once in the NBA than he did in college, which may have to do with the fact that he was just a teenager in College, so probably unfair to paint that as someones maxed out athleticism.

Starting to like him as a prospect. There's something there I don't like, but he has everything. I think he could be a great 6th man in the way Harden was for the Thunder or how Ginobili is for the Spurs. He's a handler that will beat second units.

Prior to this season I picked him as a possible no3 pick , seems to be on pace.
