My issue with Stone is that he's slower than DeMarcus Cousins and he isn't explosive like Favors or like Okafor. He's never going to have shot-blocking instincts because he lacks so much quickness. I don't think he'll be a serviceable defender in his career, but he can still be an offensive threat. I think he's a guy you want as your first scoring big off the bench in his prime, but not a starter. He's like a raw Al Jefferson, but Al played in a time more fit for his style of play.

Strength: Great footwork, soft hands, quality midrange jumper, NBA body, long wingspan

Weaknesses: Defense, rebounding, doesn't seem to play with fire, plays below the rim, not great athleticism, not in great shape but has gotten a lot better since arriving at Maryland

Overall, he's not ready to contribute in the NBA but has the raw talent to be able to quite soon. Another factor is, from what I've seen the Maryland staff has none done a very good job at developing players so he may be better suited leaving allowing him to spend all his time developing. His game and receiving likely better coaching
