Doesn't have the fluidity+skill+athleticism to be much of a self creating scorer. Straight line handler who lacks both in first step and explosion+ physicality at the rim in any sort of traffic. Forced to rely a lot on his step back J and floater game because of this.

Age is on his side, but he isn't underdeveloped like some young wing/combo forwards are so I question how much untapped athleticism he has.

I agree with most here that say his offensive skills profile much better to the 4, but he has a long way to go defensively to have any future at that position, especially when you consider his lack of great length and athleticism. For example, Al Farouq Aminu is at best slightly above average defensively at the 4 w/ better tools, instincts and competitiveness (minus maybe frame).

With all that being said, it's hard to drop him out of the top 20 based on age, size and shooting potential. Just not high on his upside and he's quite far from reaching it.

Good take.

Knox would look a lot better when quade is playing, and as Vanderbilt gets more pt. Knox has a lot of responsibility with so little ball handling depth

But with a lower BBIQ than Otto and a little more strength. Stretch 4 in the NBA, imo. But he's got a long ways to go. If not for the money, he really should stay in school and get some confidence.

Recent thoughts on him? I caught a few games and was relatively impressed in comparison to a lot of what I read on him a 2 to 3 months ago.

Top of my bust list. Completely disappears for entire games. Would be bummed if my team drafted him and both Bridges and Walker were still on the board.

I have a hard time seeing him bust. He could not be as good as advertised, but he plays for Kentucky and will be a first round draft pick (possibly a lottery pick). Teams are going to give him tons of chances to see if he can succeed. Shabazz Muhammad is still getting chances. I also think he has the physical ability to at least be a role player.

I want to like this guy but he seems like a big risk for whoever takes him. His highlight videos are very underwhelming.

Seeing this guy move up on a few mocks, figured he deserves a bump. Apparently his workouts have been incredible and both Givony and Ringer's O'Connor have him moving in to the top 10.

Hes grown a lot on me. Super quick for someone his size and hes developed this super efficient floater that’s going to make him really good in the NBA.

lol I actually think the opposite of the bolded - he's extremely hot and cold which for me I attach more often than not to less athletic players, but I can see the attraction of him. He's the sort of player I like more in theory than in practice however. 6'9" 18 year old with a solid shot and has shown the start of a decent floor game? Sign me up! Then watching him play...... :noway:

Knox is the perfect fit for the jazz. Unfortunately I don't think we are capable of moving up to snag him.

Yes, quick. Are you joking? Most of the shots he gets are in transition. He’s as quick as Draymond Green and while he physically doesn’t look like he’s that quick, he has longer strides because of his long legs and gets across the court quickly. He doesn’t have the explosiveness of someone like Giannis Antetokounmpo, but he’s still super quick for someone that is 6’9.

He also has moments he goes full speed and is even quicker than my example.

Example: Go to 25 seconds into the video

I think he means in terms of burst/vertical pop as he's quite frankly sub-par to poor in that area. I watched a number of his games this season and his lack of quick-twitch explosion was pretty evident.

If you could tell me that was a function of his youth and he'd improve greatly in an NBA strength and conditioning program I'm much more interested in him, however even then he just lacks basketball acumen/IQ as he's also a bit slow between the ears.

I guess he could go top 10 as the league is already skewed to wings and people will see Tatum in him, I think however they're not really that close as prospects. Neither his floor or ceiling are that high to me, and his best outcome is tied to him becoming a much better athlete.
