a lot of upside there....only been playing basketball for 4-5 years. Grew up a soccer player in Mali. Still, I struggle to see him coming out this season. We (WVU) still have a coach assigned to him almost exclusively to keep his emotions in check....not like he has a temper, but he has these juvenile tantrums that have to be controlled. He plays on emotions, and still struggles with his conditioning only playing about 25 MPG most nights. He usually asks out of game several times each game. Don't get me wrong, I am a fan, and he has came a long way since last year when he would routinely block a shot, flash the double biceps to the fans while his guy ran down the court for a layup....all while appearing confused on what he did wrong. If he can progress as much mentally this season, and grow his offensive game, I think he could be a top #25 pick in the draft next season.

He hasnt had any off court issues correct? The other stuff I can deal with and I dont think will turn off too many NBA teams. To me his biggest question marks are his size, rebounding and offense. Still hard for teams to be sold on a guy his size to be their starting 5, hes not a bad rebounder but Im sure hes going to get compared to a guy like Robert Williams and Williams a the superior rebounder. Then how many teams want all 5 guys to be able to shoot now? One big thing Konate has over most other defensive/rebounding bigs, he is a good FT shooter, a lot of other guys that are defenders/rebounders tend to be horrific FT shooters which prevents them from being able to play late in games.

haven't read the thread, not sure if he's been compared to ben Wallace but that's who he reminds me of. short for a shot blocker, but contests everything with a high motor and ridiculously strong and tough. but Wallace was a great rebounder. not sure if Konate is yet.

^^^no off court issues....all reports I am aware of is that he is a great young man and well liked teammate.....strong family and all that good stuff. He has like 3 or 4 other brothers playing college basketball right now, but I think they are playing at lower level schools.

that is who he claims he mostly modeled his game after.....someone showed him a lot of video of Wallace a few years ago when he began to play the game.

Glad to see him testing the waters. This guy is a monster. I don't know how high his ceiling is but his niche is obvious and elite enough to make a strong impact at the next level.

He has anger issues though that he needs to work on.

I personally want him to come back to college for another year and hopefully see him become more dominant than what he is right now. I think that will only help his draft stock. But considering there are too few PF's in the 2nd round, he might have a good chance at getting drafted.

I could see a case for a playoff teams to take him at the end of the first round.
