They lost G2 and are eliminated but DAMN this kid is good ! We the French officialy have a POINT GUARD !!!!!
Lost in OT 92-89, finished with 25pts in 29min (4-7 from 3, 0-4 from 2, 5-5FT) 4reb, 7ass, 5TO.
Highlights coming very soon !!!!

25pts, 7ast, 4rbs, 1stl, 5to, 8/17 FG, 4/6 3P, 5/5 FT

At this point with the dearth at PG in the french NT, I'd seriously consider him.

Nah too much to lose ! Let him marinate his game for one more yr. But i think he's invited with the french NT as a sparring. Great upside anyway !

Yea I'm overreacting but honestly I'd trust him more than any other guard on the preliminary roster, they all suck. I hope he'll be allowed to play in the ANGT next week with Pole France.

Flawless match from Nolan until late 4qt

PNR, middies, drives, perfect from the stripe (5/5) but he played heroball in the clutch and helped his team blewing a 13 point lead in 3 mins
Sinked 2 big 3 point shoot in OT for a last rally

He's almost as good as Risacher or Salaun, who are considered as top picks in this draft, despite being 1 year younger.
Never seen such dominant performance at such young age in France, it's very impressive how he improved in one year

After those past few games, I'm not so sure. He's already Saint Quentin's best player, he's probably ready to make a small jump. ASVEL would make sense, I dont think Yacoov is the long term solution there.

if he was in this class I'd take Traore over both Risacher and Salaun today

It would be fantastic if the NBL could get him somehow. With Sarr a possible #1 pick, could be a good precedent for a Frenchman. One can dream.

For those who dont read french, it says that St Quentin is still Nolan's number 1 option (good chemistry with the coach, chance to play a european cup) but the terms of the contract havent been finalized since now there a huge hype for him, chance to renegociate and set up a plan a year to go before getting drafted the highest possible, because lots of teams and colleges are waiting for him (around 10 teams in Europe, 4 colleges and NBL).

The numbers are insane for a 17 YO kid but tbh watching highlights i'm not that impressed. I'll save my judgement till i can see some full games.
If you want to try to measure the elements of basketball that are supposedly unmeasurable, spend a game just watching Marc Gasol.

I agree with you, nothing about the eye test screams elite trait to me. Maybe the shot. But of course he’s young. He kind of reminds me of what we all wish Tyrese Proctor was.

He reminds me of a smaller Lonzo Ball. Just fundamentally sound, crafty, highly skilled and has high BBIQ. I'm not too impressed with his size and explosion as those appear to be just adequate at best but he's still just 17 y/o so those aren't really major concerns at this time.

You need to watch full games of him, I dont blame you for not watching the french league, it's not the most exciting one and you need a subscription.
But you need to account for context. He's 17yo, he's only played 7 pro games before, he joined his team late march and didnt practice with them. He relegated Lucas Boucaud, the team most impactful player this season, to garbage minutes and instantly became the best player on a playoff team. And he didnt do it against HS or college kids who'll end up plumbers or accountants, he did it against ASVEL, one of the top 2 clubs in france and a Euroleague team who's much richer than anyone not named Monaco. Their payroll is 8 times higher than Saint Quentin and De Colo by himself is making as much as the whole SQBB roster combined.

He has a really complete skillset for a PG, he's an outstanding floor general, who also projects to be a 3-level scorer. And his defense is almost better than his offense.

He should be playing in a couple hours at the ANGT with INSEP against Overtime Elite.

Thanks for the input - I’ve seen it argued that high level success at a very young age in these decent pro leagues is very predictive. Look forward to following this guy’s progress.

First game in this ANGT where he's really trying, against Barcelona. At halftime he has 25pts 7ast 3rbs 1stl on 9/15 FG% 3/5 3P% in 18mins. When he's really focused it's not even fair at this level of competition.

45 points at the end of the game, breaking ANGT record. His current level of talent is incredible
Hugo Yimga Moukouri is having a great tournament too, big wing (6'9) with very quick feets and a nice soft touch and jumpshot. Only born in 2008. France has great 2008-2009 top talents with HYM, Soliman, Houindo, Towo-Nansi

Yea it's like watching a seasoned pro play against kids. INSEP had no business winning that game, Barca's roster is much better overall but Traore literally won it by himself. Madrid are very heavy favorites for tomorrow but if he plays like that INSEP might have a chance.

Jakucionis has a real feel for the game, he's very smart and already an amazing playmaker, 13 apg over those 3 games and he's a good shooter too. His stock should be skyrocketing over the next year. Same with Dame Sarr, had a horrible game today but was great in the first 2, a very complete player, great passer and excellent shooter.
