I feel like at worst, he can come in Day 1 and really be no worse than someone like Jaxson Hayes. Promising signs!

He understands positioning better, and has a stronger body than Hayes on day 1 lol.

I try not to jump to conclusions early in summer league and preseason, but some things are apparent fast.

Like last year for Missi. Idk if he’s ever going to even be a high level starter, but it was so apparent his first time on the court he knows where to run to and where to stand on a given play, and as a big that already makes him better than all the bust bigs lol

I was saying it early. His D will play as a backup C from day one. His offense will take awhile but his IQ on both ends is strong.

He’s a fun watch.

NO-KG-AI wrote:Fears handle and speed is so nice, and he’s scrappy and engaged on defense. Hit a really nice deep three off the dribble, and his ability to just penetrate and create open 3’s and lobs with his dribble is sorely needed. He’s going to have success getting into the lane and causing havoc even as a rookie

Queen had some really bad looking trips, falls, unforced errors and goofy play. 0 points and like 5 turnovers in the first half. After that, he slowed down and looked really good driving the ball, finishing, and had a some nice passes, including an alley oop in the pick and roll that Missi couodnt hang onto. Finished with 13/10/3 with 7 turnovers, and hit a 3. Good to see recovery and adjusting to some really awful play.

Beringer looks like he can come in and protect the rim and finish right now. Just some nice touch shots from the dunker’s spot, and overall control of the paint on D. Great early signs.

Missi isolated and drove from the top of the arc and finished, didn’t have that on my bingo card lol

several times Missi scored and you looked to see who it was because it is the same manner in which Queen is supposed to score off the bounce. He even had one right at bierenger. he flashed that some at baylor. Queen looked like a loser player who lacks intangibles today

Bierenger my handicap of him was either all star or can't see the floor - a gap so wide because his instincts were hard to read. This dudes ceiling is top 4 guy in this draft - his body looks amazing. looks so long and athletic - lively and sochan in one.

Fears has superstar flare - and i'm gonna say it cooper doesn't have superstar flare. .......cooper slipped again today - i'm leaning toward moving fears to #1 overall on the big board.

Flagg is going to be Kirilenko of this generation. I don't think that team can build entire system around him, but he will be great piece that you can plug into the successful system. He will do little bit of everything . I don't think he's the natural born scorer to be the the man on his team.

Which why it's especially painful that he ended up in Dallas. With Irving (next year) and Davis, he won't be expected to carry the load. Plus, Russell probably won't let him touch the ball enough to be the man.

Kirilenko peaked as a 16 ppg guy in 37 mins. I bet Cooper tops that as a teenager.

AK47 also peaked as a Top 10 Impact guy in the NBA, but his peak/prime was incredibly short. A 10-12-year prime AK47 is a clear-cut hall of fame player.

lol, if Coop peaks at 16ppg that will be a resounding disappointment. he should be a 25ppg guy, especially in today's **** NBA.

Ah, I see the mistake you are making. You are thinking I was wrong about a player with low IQ not being able to catch up. But what we have here is a case where I might have simply been wrong about this particular player having low IQ. I scouted him for all of like 5 minutes. But in the game yesterday he already looks to have a higher IQ than Wiseman. That's a good sign. It means he doesn't have to catch up, he's already got it. Of course, it's just one SL game but he's got the tools and raw instincts.

Also fwiw, I had him ranked #23 on my board so even with my skepticism I wasn't out on him.

Queen looked good. He was way more athletic than I thought he would translate. He also clearly lost some weight and is in good shape.

The problem is playing him and Fears at the same time...two horrible defenders.

I would move on from Fears. His ceiling is a worse version of Dame and you will never win with a guy like him chucking shots and being abused on defense. The kid cannot and will not defend.

He will average more than Kirilenko because he's in era where the scoring is up, the rules are favoring high scoring etc. But he's the similar player to Kirilenko. I am not trying to diss Flagg, Kirilenko was an excellent player.

I thought Fears looked better on defense yesterday tbh. If he becomes a poor man’s Dame, it’ll be a huge luxury to figure out if we wanna keep him or move on.

Queen is weird, because he looks lost when caught in between pick and rolls, but he’s real sticky as a wing defender once he’s switched all the way onto a guy. I think doing that is either something you have or yoi don’t, and it seems like he shouldn’t at his size, but he might thrive in a switch heavy defense.
