There are a lot of good COLLEGE BASKETBALL players that don't make the same level of impact at the next level........plus, outside of the pick and roll on the offensive end of the floor, he looks average in every regard

Nah he has good handles and good passing ability. He has good quickness too. He carried that Texas team up until the elite 8. He played well vs everyone except Rose. He's a good shooter too. Maybe he's not a good defender but I can see him being a good player. He has skills that WILL stand out at the NBA level.

I understand what you're saying and saw what you're talking about BUT my point still stands.....all of those things you mentioned (sans the handle) is best for him while in the P/R....but this could be fine given the heavy use of the play in the L......but I still don't see him any where near top 10 as others (DX & ford) do

I am aware of the prison record, but I do not think that there is much buzz because of the level he plays at. Look to Lee Benson, a former inmate, who demonstrated loads of potential. There was a great deal of buzz surrounding him. (even though you are right that no one will give him guaranteed money)

Still, my point was more targeted at the Juco ranks. It used to be a more respected method of getting to the pros. Now, because of guys like Woods and Brown, name players from the JUCO ranks are not getting as much recognition. We don't have the same perception of the junior college level as we did when Steve Francis tore it up.

It also used to be more respected before the prep school craze took many of the talented players that would have otherwise gone the Juco route. Rather than waste two years of college eligibility, non-qualifiers realized it's much easier to take 5 or 6 years to get that high school diploma and enter college as an older players with all four years of eligibility remaining. Guys like Taj Gibson and Davon Jefferson would have likely gone the Juco route 10 years ago. With so many diploma factories out there, it really cut into the talent base of Jucos.

He's like Earl Watson IMO... a little better offensively and a little worse defensively.

Personally, I'm thrilled a Kings fan loves him... he's the 2nd best PG, no doubt about it. But that doesnt necessarily make him worth a lottery pick... but this year the draft is so comically messed up that it wouldn't surprise me.

Still, this doesn't elimate the fee incurred for the extra year, correct? So, that would make the JUCO route just as viable an alternative if they have to pay for an extra year of high school. Instead, they could take the free route and go to a community college for a year, and transfer to a division 1 program after one year. Hasn't this been done as well?

Nah he reminds me of Damon Stoudamire before his injury.

Nikola Pekovic won't last past #43 no matter how many times he says he won't play in the NBA. Unless Kyle Weaver is still around. No way Kyle Weaver lasts past #43.
