Okay, and how many titles have Stoudemire, Boozer, and Malone combined to win?

The same number as Nash, Williams, and Stockton.

Yes, but I wasnt touting those guys in my examples. I am saying that PG has become more important recently. Like...within the last 5 years recently, which makes Stockton obsolete in this discussion. I'm not saying all elite point guards will win titles and that it has taken over, but I think within the next three or four years a team led by a point guard will win a title.

So Rose should be taken ahead of Beasley based on pure speculation that his position will lead teams to titles more in the future even though no precedent of such has ever been set in the history of the league?

BTW, Beasley's most natural position is the 4 over the 3.

A great PG still wont win you as many titles as a great C, but they are narrowing the gap a little. This wouldnt be an argument if it were say, Rose vs. Oden, but its not, its Rose vs. Beasley, and Beasley is not a dominant center. He is a SF/PF (probably PF). I also dont see where you get off saying he didnt play huge minutes. How did he not play huge minutes? He averaged 32 minutes per game.

How are they closing the gap?

Have you been paying attention?

Spurs vs Cavs (PG no better than 3rd on Spurs, 4th/5th on Cavs)

Miami vs Dallas ( PG no better than 4th for either)

Outside the Pistons there has been no PG that has been the best player of a championship team in recent memory and the title of best player on the Pistons is even up for interpretation.
