Re: Cammo's 2009 Big Board
It is far too early to decide how good this draft class is. A lot will depend on how good this freshman class ends up being. Pretty much all drafts from here on out will depend heavily on how good the incoming class of freshman are.

I think all drafts look weak this time of the year. Unless you can target a Shaq or a Duncan then they tend to look weak. I think the top of next years class is strong even at this early date.

Sorry if this has been mentioned already (didnt read all the posts) and/or I am blind and just failed to see the player on your board
but....
where the heck is Jerel McNeal?!
if he works on a few holes this summer, dude has a legit shot at late first imo

Re: Cammo's 2009 Big Board
Weakest draft class ever?? That's a bit of a stretch. Rubio alone should put that rumor to bed (assuming he declares). DeRozan could become more than prominant, he has the size and skill set to man a backcourt perfectly. What about the rawness of Mullens? guy hasn't even scratched his surface. Ogilvy and Evans should be nice lottery pickups, and what about Jennings. Plus if Greg Monroe declares, this just got incredibly deep.
Not saying it's a lock for a stud group, but none the less the college season hasn't even begun to start yet, let's be reasonable

I've watched Rubio through youtube and other media and he looks good, but it's not liking I'm falling all over the guy.
On the other hand, Brandon Jennings is one bad motherf***a! If Derrick Rose is the number one pick over Beasley then Jennings is the number one pick in '09.
If you haven't had the pleasure, please go watch him on youtube now. Right now!

You can pretty safely put Greg Monroe on your 2010 Big Board. He didn't come to Georgetown to stay for one year. He knows he isn't ready to make the jump immediately (if he thought he was, he'd have gone to Memphis or some other factory). He's staying for at least 2 to fix the holes in his game.

Not ready to put Jennings in the same class with Rubio and Rose based on playing against highschoolers. Let's see how he does playing against mature competition over in Europe. Him and Rubio at the top of the lottery makes it look like a pretty good year for pgs no doubt about that.

Harden will not go in the top 10.

lol..
Might want to check out what happened when Jennings went head to head with Rose in High School. Rose went for a triple double I believe and Jennings didn't score until the fourth quarter.
Rose > Jennings.
Jennings is going to be a top 5 pick though, imo.

Brandon Jennings reminds me a more athletic version of Kenny Anderson and Anderson went like what #2 in his respective draft? Jennings will challenge for the #1 spot. I'm not that high on Rubio I think he isn't ready. He should come out in 2010 or 2011. Greg Monroe is the guy to watch out for this upcoming season.

It's something of a mystery draft...and this list seems to penalize those who DID something to merit a pro future while rewarding unproven but hyped up kids who MIGHT have some game eventually....or not.
Hansborough,S Curry and Hudson way down there...nothing like a 20 ppg season to show you can't outplay the 15th best (maybe) high school guy.
What's with BJ Mullin hype? At best he might match the overrated Spencer Hawes. As has been the case before....a lot of these guys won't make the "best case" progress and some won't even enter yet.
Meanwhile,a lot of teams have been burned speculating on raw HS/freshman types. By the time some of them are useful their rookie contract is up. Had their skill ripened a bit they'd be NBA ready faster and also teams would have a better read on just what they are getting. A 19 yr old can have some razzle dazzle but not have a rounded team game, may not give a full effort most of the time or may lack work ethic or the basketball IQ to get much better.
Fine. Hansborough is who I want GSW to get and if we get him cheap..lucky for us.
CENSORED... No comment.

Holiday is too low. I also think AJ Price is a lot better than where you have him.

Since the reason Jennings went to Europe was because he couldn't do well enough on the SAT's to get into college that will be held against him.Teams will worry about him being another Isaiahj"JR"Rider(who once mispelled "his" own first name on a test at UNLV,well the guy he hired to take the test for him mispelled the name anyways

Anyone else get the feeling that Thabeet will drop like a stone if he comes out this year and is still struggling on the offensive end.

Patrick Mills anybody?
20pts Vs the Dream Team isn't a bad feat for a college freshman, and he got a glowing endorsement from Team USA's coach "I'm glad my team doesn't play his this year" or words to that effect. If he has a solid college year he could be a first round choice IMO.

Yeah. His stock is flying high right now. I will be doing a revised big board here soon and he will most surely be on it.

Maybe the fact that he has similiar skills but is 5 times more athletic?
