I just don't see it. His touch around the rim is from what i have seen nothing special. That is a downer for me.

You know what is elite about Bagley? His second jump. Fastest I've seen since Wiggins. (Debatable how useful that is)

Bagley could be really special if he develops his jump shot. It'd really open up his game. If the jump shot doesn't come around, though, he'll be a step behind the other elite prospects of the draft.

It's crazy how good he is even though there's so much more he could polish up. He's the example of the kid who honestly shouldn't be wasting time at this college level.

I have a bias towards players who have a "dog" in them. And Bagley definitely fits the bill.

It should be a little more useful with Bagley being bigger and playing closer to the basket. I think right now he's mostly defined by aspects of his game that may or may not develop (outside shot, post moves, rim protection) and people overlook that he's already a legitimately talented rebounder who isn't solely grabbing boards by virtue of being bigger and more athletic than the competition. Skillwise, Bagley doesn't even need to improve from where he is at age 18 to be a supercharged version of Tristan Thompson.

I feel like the people who see 'bust' in him are assuming he has some prima donna attitude where he wants to be Kevin Durant but lacks the skillset, but he has always seemed perfectly willing to do the dirty work from what I've seen. 25 and 10 on 12-18 shooting in his debut, and the 10 boards undersold his impact on the glass; he tipped out quite a few offensive rebounds to other Duke players and was in excellent position on just about every one of Trent and Allen's 3-point attempts.

This just isn't true though. Thompson is way stronger (especially in his low body), has better defensive instincts (PnR, switching onto guards), and has about 3 inches of standing reach on Bagley. Plus he knows his role and never tries to do too much.

I'm not trying to hype up TT as much as I am trying to say that Bagley's floor is absolutely lower than a supercharged Tristan.

He has a lot to work on in my eyes. Jumper isn't there. Needs to gain some strength and stop thinking he's a SF. Doesn't have good defensive instinct/feel for the game yet. All he's really shown so far is leaping ability, energy, and great mobility for his size.

Yeah, that's why I said skillwise - Bagley will obviously get physically stronger like every other 19-year-old does when placed into an NBA strength program (I'd just about guarantee Bagley will be heavier than what Thompson was going into the draft). I'm just saying I'm confused where this 'thinks he's a SF' angle is coming from because every noteworthy PF in the NBA now has three-point range and Bagley (in terms of form and results) is more or less where someone like Blake Griffin was at that age, and there are plenty of less skilled players who have developed an outside shot. I mean, Bagley was 12-18 so clearly he wasn't spending too much time on the perimeter. Also Tristan averaged 13 and 8 his one year of college, which isn't exactly an insurmountable goal for Bagley.

If he develops a jumpshot out to 3-point range (and that's a big if), he could be a monster.

I think his floor is a longer Julius Randle.

I like that he gets early post position isn't afraid to get physical.

Does have a unique posture and FT technique.

I would like to see him against better size. He looked huge compared to the bigs he was going against. Impressive handles for his size and nice soft touch around the rim. Also nice to see him practice his jumper during the game.

Obviously didn't watch the game, the defensive position on those plays were questionable on the highlights. Overall, he looked better than last game and shows why he can be that unicorn type of big.

He has that baby hook like Towns, his low center of gravity looks kinda like Embiid when he moves around, looks like he enjoys shooting his 3 pt shot, indicating that he can hit them in practice. He handles the ball really well for his size. The second half of the game is why he was the #1 player for 2017 and 2018 (before reclassifying)

Not a fan of him initiating the fast break after rebounds, literally nothing good came out of it for Duke.

He's big, athletic and has decent handles, but that doesn't mean he should bring the ball up court. It looks nice on a prospects resume I guess but nothing happened when he initiated the break, no pressure on the D, no drive and kick, just brought it to half court and ended up giving it to the PG anyway.

I thought he had a great game. He doesnt have the jump shot down yet but that was already known going into the season. The dude has a ridiculous motor, just seeing how hard he plays mixed with his size and athleticism is just so fun to watch. And ya that 2nd jump is elite, its so quick and I think that can be a really huge asset for a big man.

But again going into the season he wasnt known as this super skilled guy, so Im not shocked at the 3pt misses or FT misses. If Im looking at him as a prospect for the NBA, Im concerned with the FT shooting. That is usually a sign on if a guy can be a good shooter or not, but I like his form on his jumper, its nice and compact and looks to be really repeatable. I think he is a superstar and franchise type talent if that jumper ever gets in the high 30s. If he can never get that 3pt shot I think he becomes a fantastic starting big who is a great rebounder and garbage guy.

overrated. no chest. no touch. doesn't have a great feel on defense doesn't have an offensive game besides being athletic. there is a difference between being athletic and being skilled,k he's athletic, but his actual skill set is overrated at this point.

of the big propsects most disappoitned on his game

he is super nimble and springy but his best attribute, handle and grab&go/scoring on the move is one that I would not want him to exploit, I don't trust his vision and decision making, and what is he without the ball really? can run the floor and be a lob-catcher but that's about it, and he doesnt make much of a difference on D

If his feel or shot doesnt show improvement, it's gonna be hard for me to like him.

I don't like him. Can't see anything elite about hi mat the next level, even if he puts great numbers at the college level.

It wasn't a great first game, even though he got 25pts. Wendell Carter looked better than Bagley.

Regardless of his poor jumpshot in his first game, i'm not going to give up on him yet. I still have him as top five, and i think his jumpshot will come around in the next two months

Poor man's Chris Bosh? He is a leftie who likes to shoot and is also stuck between PF and C positions sizewise. That's the comparison i can come up with from those highlights.

His frame and the way he likes to attack are reminiscent of Bosh, but his jump shot is not there yet.

Reminds me of Marvin Williams at UNC
