I like Zagars but that is high - where do you think you would've taken him in this current draft?

yea, definitely on the high side but there's a bit of projection there, but i really like the skill set he brings to the table, also I haven't watched a lot of players so it's still super early

if he came out this year I would've probably targeted him in the 40s

I think my early top 10 is -

1. Anthony Edwards
2. James Wiseman
3. RJ Hampton
4. Deni Adjiva
5. Theo Maledon
6. Cole Anthony
7. Isaiah Stewart
8. Nico Mannion
9. Precious Achiuwa
10. Josh Green

Sylla, Hayes, Lewis, Okoro, McDaniels, Maxey probably next in line.. maybe LaMelo if he has a good season overseas as well (skeptical).

I haven't seen much of anyone though, it's more or less a watchlist at this stage.

maybe, well see, lots of time and things can change dramatically in a year..but one that I am most confident is Agbaji...well see how 'bad bad' he is

You guys putting any stock in to LaMelo at Drew League. I mean it's Drew league, so what, but he does look more physically mature, and he's playing well against grown men.

I can't believe he shoots with that off-balance/leg kick action, hard to see him doing that in an organized pro game, at least spotting up, and he's going to need every bit of that height advantage at the PG spot to be able to shoot with the low release.

I'm stoked and will go see him play for sure, but my concern is the fact they also signed Aaron Brooks today, and he's definitely going to start at PG.

He said he's 6'7 now, so he could definitely play the 2 size wise, but I don't think he has the strength or off ball game to play the 2 at a pro level yet. Think he'll look quite bad if he's not playing on the ball. They've got a solid backup PG already signed too so I hope that doesn't mean Melo plays purely the 2.. would rather it pushes that backup out of the rotation and LaMelo gets the backup 1 mins.

LaMelo can't be playing PG for you lol, his decision making is atrocious, he should be a back-up 2 for them

His upside definitely lies in at the PG position, as far as I can tell. Needs to fix up decision making but he's been playing in rubbish competitions all these years.. hasn't really been in a situation where he's been forced to work on it. Isn't his main appeal the vision/size for position?

Can he spot up or handle pro SG's physically? I'm not sure how much he's going to bring from the off-guard spot.

The majority of people think he has lottery upside going for him. If he's anywhere near that level of talent then he can't just be playing backup SG mins.

Not saying I know either way, I haven't watched much tape on him.

lamelo is undisciplined but has a natural talent for the game with regards to ball handling and his size and athleticism. he's a far more natural scorer than lonzo.
the key thing holding lamelo back is literally himself. he doesn't treat every possession as an important one and his motor is questionable. he'll continue to grow but talent wise he is way too good to pass up beyond the first round.

I don't know what his main appeal is cause I am not high on the guy really, but yeah I suppose, he does make great passes, or dare to, here and there

I don't think he can handle pro PG much better if you are talking about defense, he has terrible balance, weak core, going to be dusted by pro PGs, at least SGs are normally the less aggressive/talented players, better room to hide there

He is super undisciplined in terms of being in a team construct, if he can be a top9 rotation guy for Illawarra I'd call if a win for him and the team, so yeah, back-up 2 would be my guess

Yeah, I'm interested to see how he goes for sure. Has a wide range of outcomes, it seems. Will come down to his ability to buy in and how he treats it. If he can play with greater discipline, build his body, and refine his decision making, could be really good.

I feel it's a little too late to change how Melo approaches the game. The whole Europe and JBA experiments didn't help either. For instance, I don't remember Lonzo being this disinterested in structured and organized team basketball.
Robert Horry is better than MJ, because everybody knows that 7>6.

Can someone compare the late first round of 2020 draft to the late first of 2019?

I'm wondering if it would be worth trading a 2020 pick to Atlanta or Boston for their picks around 17-20 if a player were to fall in the draft this week. The only one that I think might be worth it would be Bol Bol.

not a fan of LaMelo at all

and he's not as good of an athlete as people think he is, Cole, Theo and even Hayes are considerably better. Not sure I'd take him over Tre, either.

still early but I like this year's top better than next year's (though I'm higher on this year's class than most).

He has a more to prove and has to get and stay healthy, but I like Hayes' upside over Maledon's, actually.

my fave freshman is gonna be scottie lewis. kid is a gamer. potential elite defender especially once he gets some weight.

looking forward to ashton hagans making big strides next year.

Holy hell, just watched his junior year highlight package...an awful lot of Kobe in his game at a young age.
