I think it is interesting what Magic says there, if you dont take it as just some general blahblah talk...What are they looking in a player they will draft.
He doesnt say size, he doesnt say athleticism as one of the first things he goes in this order

1. Basketbal IQ -
2. Talent level
3. Fundamentals
3. Mentally and physically thought minded
4. Can they run the court

Word is Celtics are really interested in Donte.

Lawd help the Eastern Conference if they get their hands on him.

He'd be a good fit there. Stevens does a great job at bringing the best out of role players. Someone like Luke Kennard would've looked very different in Boston than he did in Detroit.

Apparently Ainge had lunch with Donte after their workout with him.

I’m like 100% sure DiVicenzo is going to be a late lottery pick. Too many teams are interested in him, he has recency-bias, he’s a winner and he has high-end ability. Unless the Celtics are trading into the lottery, Ainge probably just liked him. The Celtics are never that easy to read.

I don't think it's necessarily the next "PG or Kawhi" as in a SF star, if it were my pick would be Kevin Knox or it could just as easily be another "Mitchel" ie/ Lonnie Walker...don't forget Giannis btw ;)

Really if anyone knew for certain, those players go top 10 n pick up much more buzz before the draft but they tend to just seem like they have some "pretty good' upside with great physical tools but shock people with how much more complete of a player they are or become, so who knows who that will be?!

98 and 99 stole all the talent from the 2000s kids.

Tough to say. Not a particularly strong SF class.

Isaac Bonga is a huge sleeper, IMO, and I actually have him as a top 5 prospect who's slotted to go late first / early second.

Rui Hachimura could've fit the bill had he declared but he's staying another year.

What makes you say that about Bonga being a top 5 prospect?

doesn't have to be a SF.... just the guy that becomes a star from the middle of the draft. Okogbie is the guy most seem to mention.

I think Donovan Mitchell's name can probably now be added to Kawhi, PG, Giannis, as well.,

Kevin Huerter's name seems to be popping up a lot as a potential star as well, do you guys like him that much?

Watched more Heurter this week, including reading/watching your breakdown FrontOfficeEye, and I'm pretty sold on him now. He's definitely being underrated as an athlete, plus great feel/passing, great off ball movement, and really solid defense. Would have to beat out some big names to get a lottery selection but could well be deserving of one.

I liked Konate a lot, always wish guys would stay so I could see them in the league earlier, but I think he can be a 1st next year so fair enough. I'm just not sure what his upside is beyond what he's shown already in college, he's already an incredible rim protector, interior finisher, got up to 79% FT. I don't see him developing some substantial offensive skill-set.

I heard his arm is still not 100%. If it's not, I'm guessing he won't get drafted. People say that he should be a stretch 4 because of his 7'3 wingspan, but his standing reach is only 8'9" - good enough but at the low end. He made a bad decision to come out, imo - unless he really hated school.

Hmmm. That'd be a shame if it's not. I really do like his skill for small ball 4. Not quick enough to guard 3s full time, but damn he is an unbelievable help defender. He already plays the game like a small ball 4 in today's NBA, too.

You're right about his standing reach, but he has the strength (and wingspan, even though that's more valuable on the wing) to still be effective at the 4. 1 inch shorter standing reach than Dray, but he's an exception to the rule.

Star in what sense? Franchise guy you can build around? No. Star in the Klay role (if you want to call him that?), yeah, definitely.
