VJ Edgecombe reminds me of a young Anthony Edwards.

Other than the fact Edwards is (and has always been) built like a linebacker whilst Edgecombe is small with an extremely narrow build, sure.

The fact that Edgecombe actually played well in these Olympic qualifiers would have me bullish on him even more. Guys his age aren't supposed to look like they belong in that environment. Especially considering Bahamas is still a work in progress in terms of fielding a team. Tum Tum Nairn was playing for christ's sake.

How do we feel about Isaiah Evans? Super fluid, really good shooter, seems a bit selfish but it's high school ...

Doubt he will be in the 2025 draft. Won’t be shocked if he ends up out of the Duke rotation this year.

Really? At least on tape the skill level looks high enough to me that he should be starting. Is it the body? Or offensive awareness as a playmaker? I can't imagine that Sion James is a major roadblock of Evans' shooting translates. The problem with Evans is that I can't find full game tape, only highlights, so there is possibly a lot there (bad or good) I am not seeing.

yea, unless he's filthy immediately it's hard seeing where the mins are gonna come from

not only does he have to compete with his incoming class for minutes (especially Kon Knueppel), returning players (Proctor, Foster) but also 2 transfers that play the same position is does (Sion James and Mason Gillis)

either he or Kon is gonna probably be out of the rotation this year, kinda like what happened to Power and Stewart last year

Ya just to add to this. The top 7 in the rotation seems to be pretty clear cut right now. (Flagg, Proctor, Foster, Sion, Maluach, Brown, Gillis). And a 7 man rotation is pretty normal in college, so I wouldnt be shocked if that ends up being the main rotation right there.

But I do think at the moment, Kon and Evans have a chance to battle each other to make it an 8 man rotation. And if that happens, I have my money on Kon beating out Evans. May not have sky high NBA potential because the lack of athleticism (I do think he's more athletic than many think), but the dude is a legit sharpshooter and pretty crafty overall.

So ya if I were to put money on it, Kon ends up making it into the rotation. While Evans, Ngongba, and Harris are the 3 freshmen that get just spot minutes like TJ and Stewart last year.

From a Duke fan perspective, I love the portal additions. I think getting solid older dudes that can play legit minutes is something Duke has been missing most years. From a recruiting standpoint, I dont see how Duke can continue landing these big classes. At some point these lower ranked 5 star players have to realize there just isnt any minutes for them, when they join these huge recruiting classes.

And when it comes to Evans overall, Im kind of meh on him. Really skinny, but he doesnt have the elite length or athleticism to make up for it. From what Ive seen and read up on him, the defense is really lacking as well. Dude is a microwave scorer for sure though when he's on. But ya dont see him getting consistent minutes this year.

Performing kinda how I thought he would against pro's. Great on offense, but not a monster defender like he was showing against the little high school guys.

What's up with Ace Bailey's knee? I know he had an injury during the year, but watching game tape I can see him grabbing it quite frequently (right knee, I believe).

4th quarter full video. Cooper Flagg looked like the best player on the floor. I want those kids the other day who told me that Coop wouldn't go #1 this year to come in and apologize. "Oh Flagg is basically Sarr; Sarr is equallty as good on defense!'

Trying to assess Cooper's height compared to some of the NBA players in the scrimmage. Some good shots of him standing relatively close to 6'8.75" Bam Adebayo at the free-throw line. Obviously, it's hard to tell with camera angles and such but he looks safely in that 6'7.5" to 6'8.5" for me. Arms look long and the shoulders broad; the overall frame looks sturdy with plenty of room to grow.

6'10" Anthony Davis looks comfortably taller. I'm liking my Brandon Ingram estimate for his barefoot height, wingspan, and standing reach. 6'8" barefoot height, 7'3" wingspan, 9'1.5" standing reach. Great numbers for a tweener forward.

Bogoljub Markovic 6'11 high motor/bit less skilled/less smart Bjelica should be one of the main players/key rotation player on the Mega team this upcoming season. Had a decent showing in the ABA semi finals this year showed some nice stuff as well.

I've been watching Dylan Harper and I think he's #2.
