Already knocked in BBL and lost at semifinals to Latvian 2nd team :D

Rytas has a bigger budget. Their complectation was very poor this season (starting with bad head coach etc), but most likely they will rebuild now, and I think that when the stakes are Euroleague and not some trashy BBL cup that no-one cares about the chances are that they will beat both teams.

He can get his 10-15 min of play time here which is same as he gets now...

Agreed, should move over immediately.

Valanciunas is too good of a rebounder and energy player to not get playing time right away.

Pacers and Sixers likewise want a guy who can get them in the playoffs this year

Maybe not with our #9 pick, but we would be mad not to consider him at 19.

If he can play center we can guarantee some playing time as well.

The problem is that there are so few, realistic situations that would benefit Valanciunas. If he is drafted by the wrong team, his NBA career will be over in three years. That's a fact.

Minnesota, Utah, or Cleveland (4) would make sense for Valanciunas. However, it's not a given either of those teams take him. He could end up in Toronto which would be the worst situation for him. Toronto does an atrocious job at developing international talent. I would much rather see him get loaned by his current team than start his NBA career in Toronto.

I would love Valanciunas in Utah, but I don't think the team is interested.

Any way he drops to Phoenix? Seems like a quick and coordinated kid for his size and age...

Ok more news from his team manager: What matters is not how high Valanciunas is drafted or whether it's an NBA/Euro club that's after him. It's the club's(Lrytas) financial situation. Thats a good sign.

According to DX,

CLE and TOR have Jonas V higher on their board than Enes Kanter. DET really likes him as well. Jon G says his range is 3-8 if he gets his buyout situation resolved.

You do not understand what a fact is. That's a fact.

Who did they ruin? Roko Leni-Ukic? Who, in your opinion, was supposed to be a lot better than they ended up?

Toronto would actually be a great destination for him. If Bryan falls in love with guy, it won't matter if he's averaging 3 point and 4 rebounds in 48 minutes of playing time, he'll still be on the starting line-up.

You can read it here

Seeing solid playing time for a BC Lietuvos Rytas team that made the top 16 of the Euroleague, and leading the competition in rebounding per minute, he's been seen by everyone. For him, it's his buyout, or lack thereof, that has teams worried.

Rytas has taken a major step forward in resolving the buyout issue in recent days by hiring a European lawyer with significant experience in NBA buyout negotiations. According to sources with knowledge of the situation, Rytas will attempt to structure the buyout on a sliding scale depending on where he gets picked, and are willing to be flexible with Valanciunas on when he can leave the team in case of an NBA lockout, even giving him the opportunity to stay with the team until he signs his rookie contract.

If his buyout situation will be resolved in a timely fashion, look for Valanciunas to be drafted somewhere between Nos. 3 and 8 overall. He's ahead of Enes Kanter on both Cleveland and Toronto's boards according to reports and has huge fans in Detroit's front office as well.

Guess what we're not exactly jumping for joy at the prospect of taking this stiff. We haven't done an atrocious job at developing international talent, the international "talent" that came here was atrocious. One dimension one trick ponies who shoot threes and can't rebound. Keep your prospects in Europe till they learn the other end of the floor

Vince Carter, Chris Bosh and now Bargnani think about those players and how they left the team(Bargnani most likely will leave soon) thats the reason why ppl wont play in toronto, the fan base is so impatient and their organization suck at making a contender team since years.
