Re: Lonzo Ball
I dont know, if he had a weird side rotation on his shot id get the questioning of it. But I believe Alford said it before the season, everything is funky up until the release, he gets it high enough and gets his hand under the ball to where he can get the correct spin on the ball.
When it comes to the rest of his game, whoever drafts him I assume is planning on running a fast pace offense, thats where he really thrives. Thats why I think PHX is a perfect destination for him. They already run at a fast pace, they have shooters already there, they just need a pass first PG that is capable of taking advantage of their players. Id run a nice little hybrid of GS and Nash's Suns offense. Push the pace, lots of off ball movement and ball movement like GS, but also run some more PnR like PHX used to do. Ball and Chriss has potential to be a good PnR duo. Chriss has the potential for Pick and Pop but also has the athleticism to attack the rim. Ball just needs to add that floater and I think they could really make it work.

Release point is high enough and no sideways rotation of the ball after his release. Pull up jumpers will always be a difficult task if he's going to his right, would require 90+ degrees of rotating his body.
He's not going to tear NBA teams apart by himself, he needs active and intelligent players around him and he would perfectly complement them. Blitzing Lonzo Ball would open passing lanes and he would punish every slight miscommunication.
That's the issue, there is rarely miscommunication in the NBA. D'Angelo Russell had better drives in college because of miscommunication, but it became a major issue in the NBA. Yes, Lonzo is quicker and much more athletic, but miscommunication isn't an excuse for someone to be better from college to the pros. Guys that take advantage of knowing the game more and being smarter/stronger don't have the same success doing that in the NBA because everyone knows the tricks and everyone has to know the plays. In the NBA there are players that know what play you'll run before you even run it.
That's a pretty gross exaggeration. Plus, I recall my one major concern from seeing Russell in college was that he was never able to create by getting into the paint.
Actually its not, just not the way we perceive it live.

UCLA down 12 at HT, if Ball has another gear to go with his offense now's the time.
For a top 3 pick in a strong draft, you'd want ability to change games when down.

His dad has to stop talk, it can be another Todd Marinovich story at the end of the day.

Imagining the conversations that Ball's dad has had with Bill Walton.

The father is an overly demonstrative blowhard..But he's also right. The NBA is easier than college for certain prospects.. his son included. Lonzo will assuredly be a better NBA player then collegiate one.

He's also going to receive real coaching for the first time in his life. He's going to have to do way more things than he's currently being asked to do. Hopefully he's up to the challenge.

I've actually texted this to numerous friends. He's a tight end playing shooting guard.

It would be a real feel good story if he ended up in LA. Being born in Anaheim, going to high school in Chino Hills, being the star at UCLA then playing for the Lakers.

Re: Lonzo Ball
Hit a couple of mid range shots today which I think doubles his tally from that range.
I know people had him top 3 without one, but that is absolutely key for him to be worth a top 3 pick.

Re: Lonzo Ball
I think his shooting motion makes his release point seem lower than it is.
Here's an article suggesting Ball will be good or even very good in NBA, just not a franchise player- which in general I agree with. Nothing new than what has been discussed here though

Why Lonzo Ball isn't the surefire NBA superstar people seem to think he is
I think we also have to consider that although everyone is hoping to draft a potential superstar in the mid-lotto and higher, it's relatively rare. Ball is going to get drafted pretty high even if consensus is he won't be a superstar, because he has definite skills and will improve his teammates around him.

Re: Lonzo Ball
If Lonzo develops craft around the rim and maxes out as Steve Nash on offense and Jason Kidd on defense would that be worthy of a 2nd pick or do yall see DSJ and JJ as having higher ceilings than that hypothetical?
