Would be weird to see Giannis Antetokounmpo and Embiid together. That would be a crazy tall team, especially since the Bucks would presumably still have Sanders and Henson at PF. So much defensive potential, and they'd average a clean seven feet over the three positions. Certainly would be an interesting team to watch going forward.

What happened to Larry Sanders? I thought you guys loved him

When a player like Embiid comes along you dont pass him up.

They said that about oden  okok bad example. You can never predict career killing injuries. I probably would've picked oden too.

People were high on Oden as well. You can't predict injuries. If Embiid stays healthy he is going to be great.

Highlights from the ISU game. His most impressive move may have actually been one that he didn't finish. The move at 2:32 when he turns baseline away from double team and gets fouled is so damn impressive.

Amazing watching him. I have reached the point where I have not seen a C come along like him in a long time. Got to say I was thinking Marc Gasol the last month for a comparison but I'm starting to see a little Tim Duncan comparison with him when Duncan was a junior and senior in college. Duncan showed a bit more consistency on his perimeter shot than Embiid did at that stage but Embiid has shown he can knock down a perimeter shot. His footwork is incredible being able to keep that pivot foot down when he makes a move and in the last month his ability to fight in the post and make himself available for an entry pass has really improved.

He can rebound. He can block shots. He can defend straight up. He can fight for position in post. He can score with a variety of post moves with incredible foot work. He can pass efficiently and effectively out of double teams. He can make a move before the double team arrives. He can knock down a perimeter shot all the way out to 3. He can shoot probably 80% at least from the foul line. Knows how to set a solid screen which is also very important. Most impressive C I've seen in college since Tim Duncan (Duncan was a C in college). Yes more impressive than Oden.

Emblid should be the number 1 pick

Bigs are more valuable than guards imo....and he has the potential to be great. i just don't see him being a bust..at worst i think he will be a marc gasol level player.

I think it should be Emblid, Wiggins and then Parker.

Is there a good chance he might become Hasheem Thabeet 2.0?

No. There's a higher chance of him becoming HoF caliber center than Thabeet 2.0.

I'm a big Embiid fan, but one thing I'm concerned about is - he can't be taking more than a few dribbles before making his move. It gives time for defenders to flock near him, and with the caliber of long-armed super-quick NBA defenders, any 7 footer is going to get his pocket picked if he takes too much time dribbling. My guess is he will adjust - but he'll likely have an extended adjustment period in the NBA.

lol no.

There is a higher chance of him being a serviceable big than Thabeet 2.0. GTFo with the HoF claim or Hakeem v2.0 comparisons.

He is already better than Thabeet so there is 0 chance that he ever becomes that. So that statement is perfectly fine with me, I agree wholeheartedly.

Embiid would never look as lost as Thabeet even if he all out bombed. The extremely unlikely "scrub" version of Embiid would be more like Aaron Gray IMO

Yeah, but Duncan wasn't even this good as a freshman in college. The fact that Embiid is playing so well with such little experience is perhaps the most incredible thing of all about him as a prospect. How much better is he going to get?

Anybody who doesn't have Embiid as the #1 player in the draft is just being silly, at this point.

I'm sure they are working on that with him now in college and it would be great to see him make this adjustment before entering the NBA. The guy is going to make an impact in the NBA. Between him and Davis I sure am glad that the NBA will have what looks like quality bigs for years to come.

Honestly I'd be more concerned if all Embiid could do was catch the ball and shoot. Going right up is a mental thing and I'm sure he'll figure out when he should and shouldn't. He's only been playing 3-4 years. I'd be more concerned if all he did was catch and shoot and hook shot or some off balance shot like a lot of big men even in the NBA only seem to be able to do. Instead he can make all sorts of moves in post.

I give up. Embiid is the clear #1 right now.

Parker has no case over him right now.

He looks good. Although I'm happy the Kings are improving part of me wishes we would have had more of a shot at landing him this summer

I actually think the Kings would be better off with Parker or Wiggins than Embiid.

Thomas
Mclemore
Gay
Parker
Cousins

Wow.
