Mike James traveled on that shot. It was very obvious....

I agree. It was quite unfair to steal that game from Unics.

Anyways, Real lost yet another game in short period of time, this time vs. Iberostar Tenerife in spanish domestic league ACB.

http://www.acb.com/fichas/LACB61184.php

Box score yet again shows Dončić as the player with best efficiency at 22 with 9/9/4, but with a neutral +/- of 0.

Quite poor performance of the whole team with only 64 scored points, again Llull spending most of the balls along with Rudy Fernández. I did not happen to watch the game, but have found Dončić highlights video:

I watched the game, Llull, Rudy and JC had a really poor game, Real was behind the whole game and lost final hope of winning it, when Randolph got ejected

With an inability to get by his defender, he really loves that stepback.

Can't have everything. If he perfects it further, he will have less injuries that way by not constantly meddling in traffic :)

Passes he made and the creation in the midrange the last few games really impressed me.

Does anyone have any info about his new contract? Did he even sign it yet?

Terrible performance by CZ, this game was just a formality, unfortunately. I was expecting more as a clash of offensive team v. defensive team, but there was no sign of defense on CZ side whatsoever. I mean... To receive 38 points in a 10 minute quarter???

Dončić played a lazy game. Wasn't really bad, but wasn't brilliant either. And that is fine, unlike Mačiulis and Rudy who got injured during the game. There was no reason to play harder than necessary.

He played a perfect game except for the 2 turnovers. He didnt force anything, there was no need to do that, he just did what needed to be done to not get hurt or tired. I would call that smart, why exert yourself in a game that was basically decided after 1st quarter? I have noticed that he is at his best when games are tight, when games are like the game yesterday he steps backs and seems like he is resting. He doesnt need to score to be efficient, took only 4 shots in 19 min, had a +/- of +19 and index of 18. That is not a lazy game, it is well above average. I am sure that if he was getting the same minutes as Llull, he would have been top 5 in avg index in the competition which would make him a serious candidate for MVP especially because Real is winning.

And one more thing. If any other 18yo player would have a game like he had yesterday, we would be saying he was amazing but with Doncic the expectations are so high that if he doesnt have a 20p 6r 8a in 25 min we say he had a pretty average game...

and the 2 turnovers he picked up in last 3 minutes, after he unexpectedly subbed Rudy who got injured.

I would also say he had a very decent game, considering he didnt play in 1Q and came in after game was practicaly already decided.
And we cant say CZ played a poor 1Q, they did score 21 if I remember right on Reals home court which is not neglectable, but the tempo Real played yesterday would break any euroleague team.

But, but.... That's exactly what I said? I think you might have misunderstood me... :-?

Lazy game doesn't mean it was bad, it was just that, lazy, no need to exert. He could have forced more, but didn't and rightfully so, the game was miles from being competitive.

They scored 24. Their play in defense was atrocious. Not only did they not contest 3p shots, they were leaving the paint wide open the whole game.

they were leaving the paint open cause Real was forcing them to do so with the plays they called. They had 11 assists in 1Q, 5 of them came from Ayon.

Real playing Barca atm, currently half time, Barca had the lead until Luka entered, he has 3 pts/5r/3a in 8 minutes of play. He had a monster off rebound followed by a 3 poiner.

8 rebounds in 16 minutes today. He will be one of the best wingmen rebounders for a long time.

Doncic will be best from the midpost, not ballscreens from the top in the NBA.

What makes you say that when he's the most effective when playing from the top of the key.

*in euroleague* he is most effective when playing from the top of the key.
