It is literally just you arguing against everyone else in this thread. And then you use a twitter poll, where half the respondents are operating at the level of "this is also a European name that starts with the letter s!" in an attempt to back yourself up.

You still haven't even attempted to justify your comparison...it doesn't even meet the one criterion you posed, that a good comparison should have the same wingspan. At any point you could stop digging this hole and start listening to what other people are saying, but that doesn't seem to be your strong suit.

Right, right, right. I haven't attempted to justify my comparison. Says the man who comped Sengun to Bam Adebayo. Sure, sure, sure.

Indeed, but the sample size is still way too small for a definitive conclusion.

For the record, I think Sengun is way better than Saric at their respective ages... and much different in playing style, too.

Sengun plays like a young Pau Gasol, as I wrote somewhere in the forums.

What is wrong with you? As I said in the original post, and as I said multiple times, I was simply establishing that players roughly the same size as Sengun is likely to measure out with the data we have (most recent height measurements between 205 and 207cm + the wingspan numbers we have say around 7') exist [and start] at center in the NBA (read about an inch in either direction height wise, and an inch and a half in either direction for wingspan). He's probably going to be between 6-9.5 and 6-11 with a wingspan between 7' and 7'-1, it is obvious those measurements were my baseline if you just read, but instead you've decided to strawman me, and talk to everyone in the thread like they are stupid, just like you do in about every interaction you have with anyone on this forum. If I were trying to make a playstyle comp I wouldn't be including guys ranging from Cody Zeller to Bam Adebayo, that should be obvious.

You are ignoring the fact that none of the guys you mentioned are actually starting centers except Bam, who is a physical freak compared to Sengun.

But sure, keep wasting everyone's time.

The FACT is Sengun is built more like Kevin Love than a starting NBA center. He is not going to be a rim protector in the NBA because he just doesn't have the necessary combination of length and athleticism to get it done. But you will learn this shortly enough.

Sigh. Do you have any idea how big Pau is compared to Sengun? It's like saying Julius Randle plays like Embiid.

Let's start with this. Can you come up with any examples of bigs who were similarly productive in terms of rebounds/blocks in Europe but turned out to be physically incapable of playing center in the NBA? Hell, I'll open it up to NCAA players too, since you don't seem like you're very familiar with international guys.

Well, a playing style is not exclusively related to height, Evan. Same as skillset. You should know that.

Richaun Holmes (6-9; 7-1.5; 242) - started 61 games at center this season
Mason Plumlee (6-11; 6-11; 238) - started 56 games at center this season
Cody Zeller (6-10.75; 6-10.75; 230) - started 21 games at center this season
Bam Adebayo (6-8.75; 7-2.75; 242) - started 64 games at center this season
Zach Collins (6-10.25; 7-1; 232) - barely played this season, started all 11 games at power forward but historically has mostly played center
Nic Claxton (6-10; 7-2.5; 217) - started 1 game at center but missed a significant chunk of the year and outplayed Jordan; if the Nets don't sign Blake he is likely their starting center
Domantas Sabonis (6-11; 6-11; 240) - plays almost half his minutes at center

To this we could add
Al Horford (6-9.75; 7-0.75; 246) - started 28 games at center
Daniel Theis (6-8; 7-0; 245) - started 51 games at center
Blake Griffin (6-11; 6-11; 250) - starting at center in the playoffs for a championship favorite

I fully admit that Sengun's success on defense hinges on his athleticism, and yes extra length could be helpful, but there are plenty of regular starting centers, and way more players who receive significant minutes at center, who have similar height and wingspan measurements. So I don't think his size is a limiting factor in him becoming a good starting center.

WHY DO YOU KEEP TALKING ABOUT BAM??

Jesus Christ, that's a bad comp. Take Bam and Claxton off that list because they are both significantly more athletic and longer. Richaun Holmes is also a vastly superior athlete to Sengun.

So you're left with a bunch of guys who are not really legit starting center on good teams. How is this useful at all?

But what is your point then? Because they have a similar playing style, but one guy is several inches shorter and like 5" less wingspan, then what? What is the point of that comp? The reason Pau was so freaking good is not only that he was skilled, but he had tremendous size. If Yao was 6'10" would he be Yao?

It is not a bad comp IN TERMS OF SIZE if Sengun's wingspan ends up being 7-1 (which some places have him with a wingspan at the beginning of the season of 7-0.5, but I'm not 100 percent sure where they have gotten this measurement), then there is only about an inch and a half to an inch and three quarters difference in wingspan. And Sengun is young, he could easily measure out bigger than he did at the beginning of this season. The key point is the limiting factor in Sengun becoming a starting center is not his height or length, it's his athleticism. And like it or not, my line was not 'x' is the average size of the 10 best starting nba centers, it was that there are starting centers with measurements similar to Sengun's.

But man, that's the key point here. You have to have the combination of length and athletic ability. He is not athletic enough where he can make up for the disparity in length. So why is everyone here talking about him as a *starting center*? He's clearly not. He's a 4 who if things pan out really well, might move up to 5 for some small ball lineups. But he's not going to be a starting 5 on a *good* team. That ain't happening. He might be a starting center *at some point* for some **** team. But who cares?

Cool theory, but you lack the evidence to back it up.

Blocks per 40 pre-draft:

Bagley - 1.0
Sabonis - 1.1
Saric - 1.3 (I took his career best just to be nice)
Jokic - 1.3
Vucevic - 1.6
Love - 1.9
Adebayo - 2.0
Sengun - 2.2
Ayton - 2.3
Collins - 2.4
Capela - 2.6

I think you might be overestimating how good the average starting center in the NBA is. I think Sengun is more skilled than guys like Zeller, for example, so I think he's got a good chance at being an above average starting center with a really high end outcome of an offensive hub like Sabonis. That seems like an interesting player worth talking about.

You are more than free to disagree and question his athleticism/size, etc. but you really just come off really poorly here... It's possible to disagree without distorting people's arguments, talking to them like they are stupid, or taking decontextualized points to twitter just to massage your ego.
