What do they say about his character?

That's not widely available public information. That's the benefit to being part of the industry and not on the outside thinking that teams only get to discover these guys during the draft. No. He has had coaches and officials around him since childhood. What they report about him matters most.

Lol that’s not widely available public information? It would be public if there were great things to be said lol.

Interviews matter a lot more than you think. They can reveal a player’s character. I’m not kidding, I’m actually stunned at how bad those interviews were.

He is getting trashed over his interviews. If you know him a bit more of a defense/promotion of him would be warranted.

That's simply not true. Why would it be true? Those that need to know, know...

Interviews don’t matter. Well, they matter but it’s like 1% of mattering.

I know it’s a different sport but EJ Manuel was literally the first QB taken BECAUSE he had one of the most impressive QB interviews ever. The kid couldn’t play. I dont put any stock in that interview with the kings

There's an assumption made that prospects are "outsiders" trying to get in the league. In reality they are insiders already firmly entrenched in the basketball world usually for over a decade. The basketball world itself is a small club. Very few people are good enough to reach FIBA and NCAA Div I Ievel like Sharpe. NBA teams know so much about these prospects and even their non basketball playing friends.

Yeah that’s different though because he had an amazing interview. He still needed to know how to play. But at least if he knew how to play you’d know you’d likely have a high character player (potentially). Shaedon Sharpe had absolutely horrendous interviews. So not only do they not know if he can play or not but now his character has come into question.

No wonder they’ve been hiding him for a year. Lol.

I wasn’t aware he had character issues. As far as him being horrible in interviews, he never had the opportunity to do interviews as a freshman. You can say that’s his own fault but it’s reality he never got those media reps. And quite frankly people were saying this same crap about Jalen Green last season and I knew it was bogus. Not everyone is going to be super polished like a Dante Exum.

Just my opinion I don’t care about interviews

He speaks like you expect a guy his age to talk. His interview really just highlights how much the other guys get coached on how to interview where he seems like he hasn't received coaching.

I never said they were. What's your point? The point is you can get a sense of a player's attitude during interviews. It's not just one interview as well. He's had two horrendously bad interviews in a span of a week or two.

Has there been anything positive said about his character through this draft process?

The bigger point is how much stock do you put into these interviews. My opinion, not much. Especially since he has no media reps compared to the other top prospects.

What character issues does he have besides being aloof?

Portland would be my guess. Their pick has been reported to be in play and I think the Kings and Pacers are happy with their options.

Something built around 13 and 15 for 7? Yeah I could see it. Maybe Schmitz wants two pulls at the lever instead of 1. Might depend on what they think of the forwards available. How much do they like Griffin ?

Terrible awareness, arrogant, selfish. Normally I don't take much from interviews unless they are really, really bad. In this case, it's really, really bad.

It's like he doesn't even follow basketball. Couldn't name anyone on the Spurs or the Kings. And he's looking at these teams as only a place where he can showcase his talents. LOL.
