No matter his oncourt production, I can't imagine a team taking a 6 foot guard with questionable athleticism over some of the other prospects in this draft.

that's the boat I'm in. I just wonder how fall you let him fall before the height no longer becomes an issue.

He measured at 6'1.5 in 2015, so he's probably an inch shorter than Steph? He's probably not the 1st pick, but he's top 5. I think it's Ayton, Bagley, Bamba (in alpha order), then either Young, Doncic, or Porter - probably Young.

Having Ayton, Bagley and esp Bamba ahead of Doncic, Porter or Young it's insanity to me

Having any of the names you mentioned over Ayton and Bagley is insanity to me.

Yes, boards in a vacuum are worthless and for certain teams (Dallas, Boston that have either better or similar level prospects already), that wouldn't be the case, meaning that Trae and those 2 are in the same tier, but if you force me to decide without thinking of a team I'd have Young ahead of both Ayton and Bagley, behind Doncic and Porter, and way way ahead of Bamba.

Agree with Ayton and Bagley, but why are you so low on Bamba again?

I can see the argument against Young. I would take him top 3, but there is value in picking other players. Especially if you think they have a higher upside. If someone like Bamba can maximize his potential he would be the best player in this class because of his size.

I see you glossed over the 'questionable athleticism' part. Iverson was a special athlete.

Ive seen him in person and I'd consider that very generous measurements. That said, there's a lot of 6 foot pg's in the league who are more than capable defenders even without elite athleticism (Lowry, Beverly, current Chris Paul)

Iverson is pound for pound one of the best NBA athletes ever.

Try again.

Remember, basketball measurements generally add 1.25 inches for shoes. And that's a 2015 measurement, so he might be taller now.

I'll say what I said at the beginning of the season. I'd pick Ayton number 1 because you know what you're getting with him - a 7'1 phenom of a scorer with a near perfect NBA body - who's probably going to be ok defensively. Bamba I think has slightly more potential, but he's still raw offensively. And Bagley's going to be his team's number 1 scorer and probably play better defense than given credit for. Once he develops a consistent 3, he'll be a perenial all-star, but 7'1 beats 6'10. Doncic - I gotta see him play against better athletes. Sorry, I know there's high quality ball in Europe played by grown men, but the level of athleticism often fools people. Porter... has played 2 minutes... coming back from a back injury. Gotta see him play against real teams.

He is probably 6'2 in shoes, looks around that, probably 6'1 at best without shoes

the level of athleticism esp when you add up with the difficulty in terms of decision making and better X's and O's and miles better coaches, isn't higher in college overall than in the EuroLeague, so not sure where you are coming from.

Doncic has played in EuroBasket and excelled in probably the higher level of athleticism that any prospect in this class has played, so sorry sir, but no.
