Are Andrew Bogut and Marc Gasol a more realistic "best case" comparison than Dwight?

Favors is certainly closer to Dwight from an athletic standpoint than Cousins is.

The thing about Al Jefferson, Cousins is longer than Jefferson. Jefferson didnt' even measure out to be 6'10 in shoes. Cousins is basically 6'11 with an elite wingspan and standing reach. Esentially arms taller and longer than Dwight Howard and Greg Oden

On body type

Cousins is closer to Eddy Curry (who is both taller and longer) than Dwight

i know cousins body fat is getting alot of attention but he dose not look even close to as fat as eddy curry, not even when eddy was coming out of highschool.

Cousins has shown twice the rebounding and passing of Eddy Curry though. Is anyone going to argue that Curry would be a good player if he could rebound like Cousins, and pass the ball?

A fit Curry with rebounding and passing skills is easily an elite post player.

Im talking about body type. Compare the two at combine

Cousins
6'9.5 barefoot, 292 pounds, 7'5.75'' wingpan

Curry
6'10.5 barefoot, 305 pounds, 7'6.5 wingspan

Curry was an inch taller and only 13 pounds heavier

BBIB keeps wanting to make the comparison to Dwight Howard, but Cousins is much more comparable to Curry- not as fat as he is now but what he was entering the draft.

i dont compare him to either. i think hes a far better scoring version of kendrick perkins, just a bully in the paint. if he can shed some weight he can be a top 5 C IMO.

Both Cousins and his agent claim that Cousins is n the best shape of his life so I doubt he sheds much weight, if anything I can see him adding it after he gets drafted

Are they arguing that round is the best shape?

Seriously... get with it fatass. You knew the combine was coming up, and you show up looking like JaMarcus Russell. His stock was really volatile to begin with.. he needs to impress in individual workouts, a lot.

You guys are not being objective at all
http://media3.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn ... 103685.jpg

You would think he was built like Big Bay Davis and then some with the way you guys describe him

Again he's 6'11 and has long limbs, so it's not that hard to weigh over 270 with that frame and still be in shape

Most basketball players have lean muscle, Cousins is built more like a football player

But I guess you would call Mario Williams fat too

Again just a football build. And no not like a OT/DT.

He's got that linebacker build

I was alarmed after hearing 292 16%, but after seeing him in action at the combine, he didn't appear out of shape. I think he could lose about 10 pounds. That shouldn't be hard to do.

He isn't a fat guy so I think people need to calm down with the idea that he is fat. He may not be Dwight Howard but he is far from being Oliver Miller. To me if he is at 16% body fat right now that may be a good thing. It could show he has upside if he can replace some of that fat with muscle.

Dexter Pittman is also a more apt comparison than Dwight Howard

6'9.5 barefoot, 303 pounds, 7'6'' wingspan

Pittman is only 10 lbs fatter, ad 4% more fat true, but his measurements are comparable to that of Cousins. Dwight is just not a good comparison to Cousins at all and I think its a huge reach to make Cousins sound more than he is. Dwights body type is so intriguing because he's full muscle of muscle and a freak athlete, Cousins has a lot more fat, I see him actually gaining some more weight in the future which will even further limit his mobility. He's no Dwight Howard

Im not saying that he will definitely go the way of Sean May but denying the fact that its even an possibility when Cousins shows up as heavy as he is while claiming to be in the best shape of his career is alarming...

Favors has moved up the board... I don't see how anyone can objectively make the claim that Cousins body type is similiar to that of Howard
