he looked atrocious against the mavs the other day, and bad against the knicks.

He barely played against the Knicks and his shot hasn't been falling, but everything else we've seen is great. He's a great shooter, so not really concerned that his shot isn't dropping. Most Raptors fans hated this pick, but a lot of them have come to like it now.

Why did he barely played? Was he injured or in deep foul trouble? If he was being benched behind all the other scrubs in summer league, that's not a good sign.

He got hurt and sat off for the rest of the game.

That's because you guys have the worst case of Stockholm Syndrome in the history of sports.

Explain that, it makes no sense as you state it.

It makes sense, he's just wrong. I think Knicks fans are easily in the lead there.

14.4 pts on 37% shooting, 3.6 rebs, 1.4 asts is cause to refer to a #8 pick as a steal? It doesn't prove he's a bust either, but those numbers aren't cause to hype a #8 pick as a steal. It's cause for no reaction to the choice, or maybe even a slightly negative one unless he's been playing great defense.

He's shown some flashes so far in summer league, but its summer league. He's going to have to do a lot more to prove that he was the right pick at #8.

Stockholm syndrome is a psychological phenomenon in which hostages express empathy and have positive feelings towards their captors. These feelings are generally considered irrational in light of the danger or risk endured by the victims, who essentially mistake a lack of abuse from their captors for an act of kindness

No it does not. Explain it in a correct context or just accept it is a misapplied nonsensical use of the term.

Yeah, play games with the words, but that still doesn't deny the misunderstanding of what it means and the misuse of the term. It can't apply the way you used it.

Next time don't be so confusing and use an appropriate metaphor.

eh i dunno

i watched a couple washington games and all the raps summer league games. i'm not thoroughly impressed but think he can be better than a role player in the league. like he's got hops and a shot and can bring the ball upcourt w/o **** up, decent blow by ability off triple threats if not his dribble

i just hope he becomes a better playmaker or shows off his skills more in that area since a ross and demar wing duo's like 90% scoring and not much else

You can't see what he means from a sports perspective?

He means that Raptors fans, once stuck with a player, will irrationally convince themselves to start liking them even if they didn't before.

I think everything is pretty damn rational in regards to Ross, but it's certainly been true in the past.

Knicks fans are still the best at this though. I remember when Channing Frye was the next Duncan. Good times.

The annual overrating of young Raptors players is like clockwork. It's as consistent as the summer solstice.

If you watched some Huskies games and the SL games you should have seen a fair amount of his passing ability. He's pretty solid there.

Well, thanks, I appreciate the explanation, but that is just a form of rationalization, it is certainly not Stockholm Syndrome in any shape or form where a prisoner becomes sympathetic to their captor.

Some users posts are so odd or confusing to start with so when a poster adds some completely ridiculous comparison, it just makes it that much more confusing. This one was so far off it piqued my interest, so I asked the orignal user of the term how it could possibly apply and what were they really trying to say. Anyway, I should know better than to ask someone who doesn't make sense to try and make sense, it is RealGM and I should expect anything.

Back on topic to Ross, he does seem to have some potential to be a good player, and it is reiterated by some of the summer league commentators, but it is still far too early to tell what he will actually be like in games. Anything more is just wishul thinking.
