Re: Future draft classes
2015 really isn't a great class but there are some reclassification candidates that could improve the class, including thon maker and josh jackson who are both old for their class.
i think rabb has star potential though. he's supposedly already 220 which is ahead of some of the other recent highly touted bigs with questionable frames at this age.
jaylen brown is another one who has the physical tools, athleticism and mentality to possibly become a star.

Re: Future draft classes
I havent seen Stone but i heard he has a little Kevin Love in him..
I hate to bring up players who havent even played in hs yet but i saw a kid whos entering his freshmen year later this year Marvin Bagley and he has a ways to go but i cant remember the last time ive seen a player at his age with his size and ability its scary to think what he could be if he keeps improving

Rabb interviews really well also. Speaks like a kid that understands his flaws and what's going on on the floor. Like he's willing to really work hard to get where he needs to be and to live up to the hype that comes along with being him.

Re: Future draft classes
Rabb is likely going to Arizona right?
I like Sean Miller, Arizona could be empty though, if Stanley, RHJ, Ashley and Tarczewski leave for 2015 draft, plus McConnell being a Sr, pretty much just York, Pitts, Victor, Ristic, Jackson-Cartwright, Allen, Dorsey, and whoever Miller recruit other than Rabb.
Will Rabb play Center? seems possible with those players.

Tyler Dorsey is headed to Zona so there goes the 1,2 punch there. I'd like Rabb under Miller's defensive direction a lot.

if ristic decides to stay in the states. i'd figure it'd be him playing C, not rabb. it's still early in the process and zona's in on a lot of recruits, including s.zimmerman.

Re: Future draft classes
anyone wanna take a crack at trying to predict the team usa u18 team?
here are the candidates:
http://www.usab.com/mens/u18/14_mu18_tr ... itees.html
billy donovan's at the helm again. he's thrown some curve balls with his selections in the past, but this would be my guess for the 12 man roster:
tyus jones/ jalen brunson/ justin simon
rashad vaughn/ d'angelo russell
stanley johnson/ jaylen brown
justise winslow/ kameron chatman/ leron black
myles turner/ stephen zimmerman
don't worry about the positions because team usa plays small and presses all the time. their usual configuration has been 1 point, 3 wings and a big. if you think there are good names missing, it's because there's also a u17 competition this yr as well. some turned down invites too.
kennard would be a tough cut because he's a good shooter and a good all-around player, but i think with russell there his skills might not be needed. pj dozier is a sleeper to make the team because he's long, skilled with a high iq and he knows how to make the simple plays that coaches love. i've heard he's looked good during the spring period, but he's still coming off of injury. briscoe and simon could be interchangeable, but i think simon is the better defender who could probably defend 1-3 in this format.
here are the candidates:
Stanley Johnson (Mater Dei H.S. / Fullerton, Calif.)
Tyus Jones (Apple Valley H.S. / Apple Valley, Minn.)
Justise Winslow (St. John’s School / Houston, Texas)
Leron Black (White Station H.S. / Memphis, Tenn.)
Isaiah Briscoe (Roselle Catholic H.S. / Union, N.J.)
Jaylen Brown (Wheeler H.S. / Alpharetta, Ga.)
Jalen Brunson (Adlai E. Stevenson H.S. / Lincolnshire, Ill.)
Kameron Chatman (Columbia Christian School / Portland, Ore.)
Marquese Chriss (Pleasant Grove H.S. / Elk Grove, Calif.)
Tyler Dorsey (St. John Bosco H.S. / Los Angeles, Calif.)
Perry Dozier (Spring Valley H.S. / Columbia, S.C.)
JaKeenan Gant (Effingham County H.S. / Springfield, Ga.)
Luke Kennard (Franklin H.S. / Franklin, Ohio)
Dwayne Morgan (St. Francis Academy / Baltimore, Md.)
Malachi Richardson (Trenton Catholic Academy / Hamilton, N.J.)
D’Angelo Russell (Montverde Academy, Fla. / Louisville, Ky.)
Justin Simon (Temecula Valley H.S. / Temecula, Calif.)
Myles Turner (Trinity H.S. / Bedford, Texas)
Rashad Vaughn (Findlay Prep, Nev. / Golden Valley, Minn.)
Glynn Watson (St. Joseph H.S. / Westchester, Ill.)
Stephen Zimmerman (Bishop Gorman H.S. / Las Vegas, Nev.)

Looks like SMiller will have the best class in 2015, if he gets Rabb.
Simon, Jackson-Cartwright
Dorsey, York, Allen
Pitts
Victor
Ristic
If they also get Zimmerman or another blue chipper... watch out, or if Stanley Johnson/RHJ stay another year.

Re: Future draft classes
I got my doubts with Stanley, scouts love him and he will be at least a pretty good defender and versatile on offense, but he is going to play pretty much SG next year, and I don't know how ready he is to play full time Guard, plus his shot is still inconsistent, I think he could stay for another year if he seeks a chance to compete, the dude is a winner.
Anyway I don't see superstar with him at any point, more athletic/efficient Evan Turner, less crazy/better playmaker Ron Artest are comparisons that comes to mind.

his senior year will help him with that transition since he actually played the point for his hs team. besides, is there that big of a difference b/t playing SG and SF in college ball?

Re: Future draft classes
Dennis Smith, Jr is pretty good. His ball IQ seems a little suspect but the format I watched him in wasn't great for assessing that. Otherwise, he's got just about most of the tools one can have in the tool box at his age.

justin simon
caleb swanigan (recently reclassified)
g.papagiannis
danjel purifoy

Re: Future draft classes
so today marks the end of the early aau sessions. all the circuits' sessions are over and all that is left for aau are the july tourneys.
my personal rankings in terms of pro potential for 2015 from i've seen and gathered:
1. ivan rabb
2. ben simmons
3. malik newman
4. diamond stone
5. jaylen brown
6. stephen zimmerman
7. cheick diallo
8. chase jeter
that to me is the cream of the crop. the rest i don't have much exposure to, am iffy on or are a tier below these guys. jaylen brown and chase jeter are the big risers. brown has star potential with his combination of length, athleticism, aggressiveness, competitiveness and improved skill level. jeter is the classic post big. great skill level, feel for the game, has improved physically, both growing an inch or 2 and adding strength.
solid bigs up top, but it doesn't look like a great class so i'm hoping for some re-classifiers. thon maker's reportedly already in the process of doing so. big man caleb swanigan has already done so.
as for the few 2016's i've seen, dennis smith jr is definitely a top 5 talent in his class and udoka azubuike has massive potential.
early impression rankings (pro potential) from this class from what i've seen:
1. josh jackson
2. thon maker
3. harry giles
4. dennis smith jr
5. jayson tatum
6. malik monk
7. udoka azubuike

finally caught some updated footage of Chase Jeter. kid looks pretty damn legit, love the dropstep and the ball fake he uses. Appears to play with high offensive intelligence. good post patience and looks like he knows how to carve out space. granted he's bigger than those opposing him so i'd like to see him against someone his own size. he looked decent against Rabb but i wouldn't put too many against Ivan and expect them to have the upperhand.
Maybe i need to see more but what gives a guy like Stone the edge over Jeter?
