depends what he offers defensively. He can shoot all he want, if he can't defend his position he'll have a limited role. what he can do well is finish well at the rim which i respect. someone mentioned john jenkins earlier i think thats right now but a bit more aggressive at the rim.

lets relax with the jj comps, jj was a shooting phenom @ duke. like insane stuff booker could never do. doesn't mean booker can do things better than jj though. maybe follow the footsteps of his fellow uk alum meeks, although booker is better off the bounce.

Wow! did i call it or what. Booker just posted a 35 inch vertical in the combine and i made my prediction 3 days ago :D

Klay only has a 31 inch vertical.

With his short arms, you're only left with a J.J Redick comp.

You are totally wrong with this one. Scary that Booker has NBA length and is still growing.

Youngest player in the draft with excellent quickness and length for SG.
Will need to actually learn, how to use that quickness on D, and work on expanding offensive arsenal, but a patient team might get quite a reward in mid-teens.

He was measured back in October with a 6'6.25 wingspan, so his arms grew a substantial amount over the last 7 months. He probably hasn't even gotten used to it yet. And since he's easily the youngest player in this class (8 months younger than Russell), it's reasonable to assume he might not be finished growing yet. He will need to adjust his game to reflect his better length because right now he settles for the jumpshot too much. That added length will make it easier for him to finish at the rim, so he needs to practice that to take advantage of it.

Devin Booker is a worse prospect than Nik Stauskas & Stauskas has struggled in the league so far

No.

similar athletically

Booker is 18

Nik was 20 when Drafted.

Advanced Numbers are pretty similar for last year in college, but Booker is almost 2 years younger at the time.

Nik Stauskas was considered an elite college player & prospect, Nik is a better shooter, & could create his own shot in college something Booker has shown no capability of doing. Nik was a much better ball handler, & I'd say the superior athlete as well.

Booker has the fastest agility and shuttle times at the combine, he is a much better athlete than Stauskas.

he went 8 drafted by the worst front office in the NBA, if they hadn't picked him he would have cwent 16-22, which was his range in any reasonable board.
Booker is rated a bit higher, in a less deep class.

How about a floor instead of a ceiling? I'm thinking Jodie Meeks.

I like Booker and he's winning me over with his approach to the game. He is already studying analytics and synergy tracking to understand how to move on the court. That type of work ethic will make an incremental difference throughout his career.

With that said, I think the floor for him is Daequan Cook. They are eerily similar. But, I think with his work ethic and intelligence, he will end up a better player.

I made that post before his combine measurements & I'm still not buying his 6-8 wingspan. I saw some sketchy measurements from the NBA combine, like his teammates Dakari Johnson who all of a sudden has a 9-4 standing reach and wingspan also grow 2 inches over a couple months.

So because Booker's arms are longer than UK Pro day measurements some here think he's still growing. How to construe the fact that he measured shorter from the UK Pro day. Is he losing bone in his spine but gaining it in his arms LOL?

You can crouch and measure lower, than your dimensions actually are, but how can you cheat and end up longer?

Booker would be a great pick for the Hawks at 15.
