MPJ is last because back injuries scare me, Bamba is so low because even though he can move I worry about his functional athleticism plus he hasn't convinced me on the skills front, Bagley I feel higher on his shot and handles developing but he's really reliant on that development happening, Young spaces the floor and moves the ball well so he'll have a spot but the volatility of trying to translate such a high variance ability makes him a lower candidate, JJJ has more of a sure floor because of how much value he can add without needing touches via floor spacing and versatile defense but he's lower than Ayton, who has primary offensive focus potential as a go-to scorer, Doncic is valued over Ayton because not only could you run an offense through him but he's also value added to all the other guys on the floor with his plus passing and vision and he's more flexible positionally as a wing.

trae young's biggest strength isn't his shooting or his ability to get to the line. its his playmaking - which is to say his vision and passing. he's more chris paul than steph curry.

Yeah, when I saw him live, I was most impressed with his passing...sometimes full court to someone wide open under the basket for an easy two. The only drawback in comparison to a guy like Chris Paul in this respect is his turnovers, though I think in part that is because of the way defenses game plan for him to smother him, double team and often cut off passing lanes, given his subpar teammates in relation to many of the other prospects.

good points. i give him a bit of a pass for the turnovers because he has to take so many risks in order for his team to get buckets.

right now, at least as it relates to his play at OU, his biggest issue is his shooting. he's getting to the basket, he's dishing, he's drawing fouls, but he just can't hit the three. i mostly chalk it up to fatigue at this point.

He also has defenses more and more focused on just stopping him as the season has progressed. And he takes a higher % of tougher threes, mostly off the dribble, where most 3 pt shooters are getting open catch and shoots.

Agree that most of Traes threes are coming off the dribble from NBA range and beyond but I think his teammates are underrated. He gets to operate with decent spacing from his other wings (and Brady Manek) and Lattin/McNeace are good energy 5s at the college level. He's not operating like Simmons at LSU or Fultz at Washington. There's a pretty average to slightly above average talent level surrounding Trae.

its funny that LSU has a better record now despite not having the #1 recruit and lets not act like it was just the ben simmons show he had another 5 star in Blakeney, we all know its not just the talent the coach was not good.

Yeah, they were what, 11-20 last year and pretty much the same team? Plus the Big 12 is a very tough conference so most of the conference play the other teams have a much better overall talent in their starting lineups.

Those are the big lotto guys I like this year in that order. Feel like you have two potential primary creators with Luka and MPJ (limiting factors: Speed for Luka, Handle for MPJ) and two potential top bigs in JJJ and Ayton (limiting factors: Creation for JJJ, defense for Ayton).

Out on Trae, Bagley, Bamba.

I'll wait till Bonga's second contract to evaluate him. Right now, I can't past his awful turnover rate, but eventually he could be something.

Fultz had a worse roster, but Simmons' LSU on talent was clearly better than OU, no question
