Well, that was not the argument I was trying to make, quite the opposite. If you're hoping for Ben McLemore, probably not worthy of a lottery pick.

B Mac is probably the worst possible outcome for someone for B Mac's skill set. So yes, if you see the worst possible outcome for Agbaji I see why you'd be reprehensible about picking him that high

A bit different than McLemore, who people were comparing to a Ray Allen-type. He’s a bit raw, yes, but he’s raw in all the right ways for a freshman. He can play in the NBA right now. I don’t know about lottery, but I also can’t talk myself out of the lottery because he has one of the better profiles and plays hard.

The one thing we on the internet will never be able to catch with prospects is their mental makeup. We just do not have the access. That is B Mac's problem. Not his talent level.

yea, that's always the problem. no one knows how a player will handle being in the NBA once they get there. that's the unscientific part of it all and why a lot of picks end up disappointing.

but again, it's not like B Mac was this terrible prospect so I'm not sure why EvanZ is using him to take a shot here (if he is). B Mac was the 7th overall pick for a reason.

also..let's take Agbaji into context...he was supposed to be redshirting right now, has played in only 11 games and started only in the last 6. in the 6 games he's started, he's averaging 15.5p / 6.8r / 1.2a, shooting 55% from field and 40% from 3. McLemore in his first 6 games started shot 45%/24%.

Agbaji is way ahead of the curve right now

After watching a few more games, I'm pretty in on him.

Handles are better than I thought. Had a couple really bad mis-handles in the first game I watched which is where my earlier "no left hand" comment came from, but I think it's actually pretty functional w/both hands. And when you tie it in with his quickness, stride length and finishing ability, it's not hard to get excited about his ability to play off closeouts especially if you believe in his shooting. Seems to be pretty flexible too and can get low with his dribble, which I like.

Don't get wrong, he's pretty limited to straight line drives at this point and I don't think a reads the floor much with the ball in his hands--has missed a couple really obvious reads in the games I've watched--but I like the foundation the more I see of him.

Really like his general court awareness on both ends and what I've heard in interviews has impressed me as well. Incredibly bright and mature for a kid that has yet to turn 19. Seems to be about the right things.

Still not ready to believe in any real star level upside, but as far as valuable two way role player goes, I think he's a very safe prospect with room to grow.
