Hopefully Phx or the east somewhere. It's scary Dallas has such a good chance to get him.
Could you imagine if Philly got him? Would that be too many guys that need the ball in the starting lineup?

Phoenix or Atlanta. Those are the two spots I want him to go to...

Phoenix would suck imo. Terrible owner and poop management, plus not a great fit with Ayton. But owner/management is the main thing to look at.
Hawks or Mavericks.

Hawks/Grizz/Pelicans would probably be my top 3. In that order.

With that said I think Pheonix would be horrible for him. On paper he fits like a glove but in action they got a shot happy SG, no legitimate PG and a C whose declared he wants the damn ball. All within good reason as they have pretty good talent but my point is everybody thinks they are the alpha in Pheonix.
Dallas would probably be the best situation. Thier PG has the ball on a string and thier other go to player in KP actually enjoys not being featured and wants to spread out this opening up the middle for anything Zion wants to do.
As for my Knicks my little rant at the beginning is probably exactly what will happen unfortunately. Ive become a cynic myself but in terms of how her be treated he fits like a glove. Our current stud prospect is a C that only gets the ball on lobs and otherwise is a rim protector so Zion can have any opportunity he wants inside. The guards aren't good enough to steal opportunity from him. The biggest issue is our desire to think big in free agency which won't be good for Zion. A bunch of win now guys who have no patience to see him develop. Every Knick fan keeps harping on Durant and Kyrie with Zion. WTF is Zion supposed to be on a team with those players? Which is why if I drafted him I don't care about FA. Rather sell the cap space for more picks but that's just me.
Ayton isn’t an alpha and wouldn’t care about Zion dominating the paint. It’s a better personality fit than b-ball fit IMO.

Re: Best and Worst Spots for Zion
I'd say CHI and DAL are the best spots.
I mean Lauri, WC Jr, Zion and LaVine...that would be a beastly young core and a future monster imo. Doncic + KP + Zion...my lawd, self explanatory.
Worst...CLE.
Gilbert is clueless of how to run a team and I'm just sick of the NBA gifting CLE multilple #1 overalls everytime Bron leaves. He also doesn't need to grow up in that shadow.

Best spot: New Orleans. Ideal scenario: New Orleans gets #1, then trades AD to the Knicks for #2.
New Orleans builds around a reunited Zion and Ja.

ABC . Anywhere but Cleveland
The best Zion location for the NBA as a whole is an EAST franchise (we can't afford to have another superstar talent out West) . Ideally you want him to play in a market that will fully showcase his stardom .
NYC, Atlanta, DC, Chicago

ATL is most deserving. They actually built a solid young score in a short amount of time.

I agree Cleveland would be a horrible spot for him to land.
But huge disagree to this “market to showcase” Zion or anyone. No matter which “market” is his local city it’s only a tiny fraction compared to the “entire world market”
Local marketing doesn’t touch world wide marketing. The nba is world wide. This isn’t the 70’s

It's hard to take your post seriously when you have the clear best fit as your second worst.Coeur wrote:I want to see people’s top 3 lists of best for Zion teams to win the lottery. And do a best for the NBA list if you want.
Best for Zion
1- Lakers
2- Charlotte
3- Phoenix

2- Knicks
3- Lakers
Worst for Zion
1- Knicks
2- Hawks
3- Cavs
Worst for NBA
1- Cavs
2- Kings
3- Memphis
I think they’ll give the lottery to New Orleans. And that’s it’s 4 or 5th best spot for him anyway. Will work out great. I still hope Lakers or suns

Are you a huge buddy Heild fan or are you wanting Zion to play in front of half empty crowds?

Re: Best and Worst Spots for Zion
I'm talking about the Hawks. Trae and Zion would be a perfect fit. He would be fed easy baskets and exciting oops 24-7. Would be must see tv and Atlanta fans would show up like they did in the 2nd half of the 60 win season. ATL sports teams have great attendance when they have a legit superstar.Coeur wrote:BudenFerry wrote:It's hard to take your post seriously when you have the clear best fit as your second worst.Coeur wrote:I want to see people’s top 3 lists of best for Zion teams to win the lottery. There isn't 1 good argument being made as to why anywhere he goes would be bad for the league. Especially the notion Cleveland is somehow a bad place given the place itself despite the rediculous false narrative about it being a trash heap which is false... CLE would be a great team for him ,it's a city on the rise has been for years and is exploding with the Browns finally getting a legit qb.
The worst team for him would be any team already good ,that would be bad for the league who's bottom dwellers need revitalization.
The best place for him is probably Washington tbh

So he can skip the part of his career where he demands a trade from his initial team after 7 years because they've failed to put the right players around him to win?
I like Dallas and Minnesota as fits. Any team that has a 5 that can shoot, really.

Well that's your opinion but, personally I would rather have Zion play in a thriving metropolis city that has other attractions . If he was in Chicago for instance I could see myself going up there to visit and then catching a Bulls game . Or NYC, Atlanta, DC etc . I think it's so much cooler when a player has a huge city behind them and massive media market to really get people in that town excited . I was living in NYC when the Knicks had that year they won 50+ games and Melo was an MVP candidate, and also during Linsanity and those moments were honestly magical for a brief stretch.
It's just my personal preference that's all . If he went to Cleveland or Memphis I would be kind of disappointed (mainly Cleveland)

I think the whole thriving metropolis thing is a bad argument because those cities are much worse than Cleveland as a whole. But if your talking about just more population and diversity of culture for when you vacation there and only see what you want to see etc I get it.
I do think Washington would be a great place fit wise but they are so strapped for additional player acquire it negates the positive and the same types of positive negative columns can be filled anywhere he goes.

I have nothing against Cleveland personally - but it's clear from history that many NBA players don't want to go there. I'm not a young millionaire NBA player so I can't speak to what specifically those guys don't like about the place, but it's the reality. If Zion goes to the Cavs, it is unlikely that he will be able to attract star FA talent to play with him.
I think Zion would be more of a magnet in a bigger city, and the overall experience would be more exciting for him and the fans.
Fitwise isn't a major concern in the long run because the league can change so much over the course of his 7-8 years of his first NBA team. Most of the lottery teams have at least 1 young star talent to pair Zion with or used to get other pieces.
