I've seen Puko playing in Greek 2nd Division. He's nothing at all like Divac. No way in hell can he play center at the pro level. He was playing SF in Greek 2nd Division, and was having issues with not being strong enough.

He also hasn't filled out and is the youngest player in the draft, IIRC.

Yeah, he's like a high school senior. But still, no way in hell is he going to be a center.

You never know. I feel like he could go in any direction. Stay skinny and be a big 3 like Durant or a big 4 or if he really bulks up and loses a little mobility, a stretch 5 could be in the cards.

He's going to be a face up power forward. Other than height, he really has no traits or qualities of a center whatsoever.

Not right now, but he doesn't have the size. Even Magic Johnson played the 5. Not comparing him to the all-time great, but I'm just saying you never know. I know it is a slim chance, but he is a true 7-footer and with the league going smaller, it could happen, but probably not. I agree he is most likely a stretch 4.

Pokusevski is a shooter. Bol Bol isn't + injury concern (left foot).

I don't view him as a shooter, not in the NBA. Sure, he can step outside and knock down a shot but we've only seen a small sample size (25 attempts), and that's Pokusevski's bread and butter. Maybe it's a stretch not to call Bol Bol a shooter, but I don't think he's the natural shooter Pokusevski is. His release is really slow, but I guess it doesn't matter when you are 7'2 w/ a 7'8 w/s. Pokusevski can hit contested 3s with ease whereas Bol Bol just takes open shots. What happens when defenses adjust?

not to hijack this thread and turn it into one about Bol, but I am genuinely curious why Poku is so high and Bol was so low for people

just a reminder at what Bol can do:

Bol can do everything Poku can do, except better, and in a 7-2, 7-7 w/s frame

Poku shot 29% from 3 in the u18 Euro Champs. 2/11 at u17 WC. 32% for Olympiacos B over the 19-20 season.

Bol is a way more proven shooter than that.

He's also younger than Bol Bol was at the time of the draft.

I think Bol's really huge flag was also a lot of reports he didn't/doesn't really care about or like basketball. He just sort of does it.

Some segments of Kings fans think he is so like a Vlade player that it’s a running punchline/tease that he’ll take him at 12.

Marginally so, sure. I'm not sure that really makes a difference. I like Poku as a prospect, he projects as someone that could shoot well, but there's no denying, he's no where near the shooter Bol is right now.

No idea why that is really

Poku just knows bball better than Bol, who was a bit of a black hole, and has better tools in terms of athleticism, Bol was so stiffy and had terrible movement skills, Poku is not super athletic but he is fluid, his built is completely different, similarities stop at them being skinny/skilled/tall, that's about it

Poku can play forward, Bol is a straight-up Center and his limitations there are more severe imo

Per Stepien:

Not much shot versatility with Bol because of his size. He can run the PnP a bit, though the results weren’t great this year, and can C&S, but should not be putting the ball on the floor and shooting off the bounce. His low release point and slower shot mechanics make it easier for the defense to close out on him – which is why he was blocked so many times on his jumpers this year. Will likely be just a C&S player off of basic motions like PnPs and moving to the open spot.

...

He can C&S... he’s not a shooter or the shooter that Poku is...

Bol has unreal touch, his mechanics are trash but just on touch alone he is more advanced as a shooter than Poku

Poku has upside there to be sure, but still

Well I guess 98% of players in the NBA are shooters if you want to use that as a definition. Lots of players can knock down wide open C&S shots.
