Ha, I was thinking the same for the Grizzlies with Jaren. Two skilled 7 footers just reek havoc on teams that struggle to even find one.

Nah, no way, probably 4th highest absolute ceiling (Cade, Suggs, Keon ahead)

His base, might get pushed around a bit till the weight gets put on and I need him to be more active off ball defensively. At this level specifically there should be nothing in the paint if Evan is located anywhere from baseline to free throw line. Shot block discipline is also a must and he'll need to do his early work for boards until he puts some size on.

Was thinking about this exact thing last night lol.

self creation is def a weakness, offensive output etc, he is just not a scorer, and even though it looks plastic I don't think he has that many moves, and obviously the jumper is not there yet

I don't worry much about anything of the stuff you have remarked above btw

I mean Zion did/does have injury concerns which taking those into consideration could drop him low enough even be considered a worse prospect than KAT.

I mean honestly Greg Oden was an amazing prospect, if not for injury concerns that manifested and derailed his career.

i'm not worried about Zion injury concerns and that doesn't factor into my analysis at all for him...people concern themselves with injuries too much until it actually happens worry about it

His handles for a big are so good.

Off his first three touches in the UConn alone. No way you can't fall in love with the possibilities

If USC could make shots off his passes, they would be winning.

Very quickly coming around to Mobley, he's pretty fantastic. Not sure I have a good feel for his upside yet.

There's a lot. Plenty of room for improvement in a lot of areas. Obviously adding weight is a game changer. Good IQ and skillset base to build off of while the rest comes around. Peak Mobes might be in the convo for one of the top 5ers in the league at some point.

I see more of the Jaren Jackson Jr. archetype once he gains another 20+ lbs, but I get that he's more mobile and a better passer than JJJ. It also looks like he can do more in isolation than JJJ.

He's skinny. He needs some strength and a bit of bulk to get where he wants to go in the NBA.

Jackson Jr better shot blocker, but Mobley is better almost everywhere else

lol I think it's safe to say I was wrong about Mobley. Looking back at it, I think I was too critical about his lack of strength and passive nature. He's been essentially perfect in every aspect of the game for USC so far. His footwork, IQ, discipline, and offensive versatility have all been very impressive thus far.

But on a side note, the amount of talent we have seen thus far has been absurd. I can't remember the last time I've seen 6 five star prospects look like they belong in the top 3 without a question(Cade, Boston, Green, Kuminga, Mobley, Suggs).

JJJ is obviously also a better shooter and driver. Not really close right now.

A team with with a Triple Core of Ja Morant, Evan Mobley, and JJJ would be so fun to watch.
