Mitchell returning to duke.

Scheyer deserves a lot of credit. Not only brought in a hell of a recruiting class, but was able to get both Proctor and Mitchell to return. Proctor and mitchell aren't going to the nba, they're not transferring. They're going back to duke.

no other college program has a duo with that much talent returning to its campus in the fall.

Now, if Filipowski also returns to duke..

not sure if Mitchell had a choice he's not really a prospect right now

That's your opinion. Consensus had him as a top 60 guy - I had him top 35.

The NBA these days is all about wings. Mitchell is a modern wing who is really good at driving into the paint and either finishing, drawing a foul or kicking to the open man. Decent outside shooter. High motor. Can defend at a decent level for a freshman. Was a 5 star recruit and was one of the best, most consistent players for duke as a freshman. 6'8" with a strong build.

Could make a leap next year and go top 20..

apparently that's the opinion of Mitchell and his handlers too, if he was gonna go top 35 he would've declared.

and he's not really a wing, he's more a combo big type...also with Mgbako, Stewart and Power coming in for Duke i'm honestly not sure where all the minutes are gonna come from. at least one of these guys will be rotting on the bench.

Let’s get Flip back, then hope the rumor spreading on Twitter about a certain 5 maybe wanting to transfer to Duke if he doesn’t go pro is true. Then Duke is 10 deep and runs a platoon system next year. A man can dream right

(Also sorry for the derailment, just not used to multiple guys returning to Duke in a year is all haha)

Yup this one was pretty simple. He went into Duke thinking OAD, then throughout the season it became pretty clear he didn’t have much of a draft stock. So he returned. I assume if he and his people were hearing things like him being a top 35 prospect, he would’ve at least gone through the draft process to get a clearer picture.

Yeah well last year Kendall Brown, JD Davison, Caleb Houstan, Trevor Keels, Bryce Mcgowens and Josh Minott declared and got drafted outside of the top 35.

-Lots of guys declare (and get drafted) even if they're not gonna go top 35
-Often times it's hard to know exactly where (or if) you'll get drafted - especially when the draft is 3 months away
-3 months before the draft last year, nobody thought David Roddy or Andrew Nembhard was gonna go top 35

right but if he had word that he was going to be drafted anywhere near the 35 you still think he goes back to Duke? not even go to the combine for more intel?
