That’s a really tough development progression to emulate, though. He’ll go in the first off projection, maybe even in the teens, but he looks more like a smallish shot at a steal than anything super special. Fun skill set, though.

That's what I said earlier. The idea of a 6'9 playmaker is better than the reality of him. It's gonna be hard to make it if you're this bad at offense.

makes it a lot more palatable for teams to take that chance if literally the last three near identical prospects have all seemingly become high quality starters. It's a much stronger draft class so I doubt he goes top 10 and maybe not even the lottery and by then it's not really very risky

Well, then there are also Isaac Bonga and Delano Banton. I do think he is more talented than both, but there are plenty of big playmaking wings who are just not that great as prospects.

It was a failure of the system and coaching more than Avdala's imo. If Malone can't unlock his potential then I'll have misread his talent big time but I believe with better coaching and surrounding cast he'll look much better next season and deserving of top 10 discussions. This should be a good test for Malone's college coaching acumen and will signal to other recruits and could very well put UNC back on the map for top recruits if they have a good year.
I love this for Avdalas and Malone.

It will be interesting to see if Malone can land Miikka Muurinen as well.

Bonga is nothing like Avdalas or the others but using Banton as an example, he was never given sustained run despite flashing with the Blazers when he put up 17/5/4 playing 30 mpg. Of course they weren't going to play him over Scoot moving forward and it's not reasonable to expect any other franchise to start a guy like him over their own recently drafted players so Banton, like so many others, fades into obscurity and is forced to play out the rest of his career as a journeyman end of rotation guy despite his potential suggesting he's capable of more. Point is, these guys are worth the risk since many recent examples have proven worth it.
Foes..you DO realize I don't see your posts....right?
