Knicks fans...

#25 + #51 + Diallo + 2023 2nd swap

for

#27 and #38 + Dotson?

Hmmmm. Might have a deal. I want Tyler Bey and would consider your trade to nab him.

If you had to pick between Killian Hayes and R.J. Hampton, who are you taking and why?

Hampton is the better defender and better athlete and has lightning speed. Hayes is presumably the better shooter and stronger, and he can create for himself better than Hampton can, but his defense isn't close to what Hampton's is.

I updated my big board. I have Hampton and Hayes as 1 and 2. Feeling bearish about Edwards. Maybe I'm wrong about him and he will do better with a smaller role in the NBA, but I just think he has too many defensive lapses and chucks a little too much.

1. Minnesota:
2. Golden State:
3. Washington:
4. New Orleans:
5. Cleveland:
6. Atlanta:
7. Detroit:
8. New York:
9. Chicago:
10. Charlotte:
11. Phoenix:
12. San Antonio:
13. Sacramento:
14. Porland:

Minnesota at #1 is really weird to me...I don't see any great fits, probably Antman but I don't love it

Hampton is way worse than Hayes on defense man, like not even close

1. Minnesota: Wiseman (needs a defensive back bone)
2. Golden State: Okongwu (needs a defensive backbone, and has a guard heavy roster)
3. Washington: Toppin (if Wall comes back as a top tier player, this team would be a top center away from being scary in the East)
4. New Orleans: Edwards (adds a high upside prospect to pair with Zion on a deep team)
5. Cleveland: T. Bey (I get Shawn Marion/Aaron Gordon vibes from T. Bey he can play SF while young and can eventually replace K.Love at PF)
6. Atlanta: Reed (I think Paul Reed would fit in great in Atlanta, I expect he'll develop a 3 before long and should be a longtime plus defender as a big man)
7. Detroit: Anthony (imo no brainier here, I'm higher on Cole than most though, let him learn from a former MVP for a year before taking over a roster more designed to suit him after Rose walks next off season)
8. New York: Vassell (NYK needs to get on base here, no need to swing for the fences after some many strikeouts, the roster needs a realse valve via shooting, and here it is. PG is a huge need, but you can get by with veterans their. Adding a sharpshooter will have the added benefit of making last year's #3 look like a better pick than he currently does)
9. Chicago: Haliburton (Haliburton and Cole would be a great combo moving forward, Lavine will be the starting SG, Coby 6th man, Haliburton starting PG eventually)
10. Charlotte: Smith (maybe small for a center, but if he hits you got yourself a stretch 5, a stretch 4, Miles Bridges and a two headed PG monster)
11. Phoenix: Ball (I'm not a huge Ball fan, but if he hits, he's fit EXTREMELY well here)
12. San Antonio: Okoro (let's keep beefing up that perimeter defense, we'll add the bigs at a future date)
13. Sacramento: Avdija (a nice, versitle piece added to a weak front court, he can play the PF next to Bagley at C or SF next to Bagley at 4)
14. Porland: Nwora (let's add some forward depth that knocks down the three to help replace what Portland used to have in Harkless/Aminu)

I know most of these picks would be panned if people even cared to reply, but this is what I'd do in this order.

1. Minnesota: Okongwu

-Preferably they trade down, but **** it. Weighing the likelihood of Ant reaching his ceiling in that locker room against the sureness and fit of Onyeka makes it a pretty easy decision. Not a team drafting for a franchise guy, they already have 1a and 1b in KAT/DLo. Okongwu can anchor the D and provide selfless offensive contributions, even if the J doesn't develop.

2. Golden State: Ball

-Savvy organizations take BPA, and the Warriors take LaMelo here, even if it doesn't make much sense. He has the highest ceiling, and under Kerr/Steph's tutelage provide a really good chance at him reaching that ceiling. This situation doesn't thrust him into production pressure, but allows him to develop and pick his spots playing meaningful minutes for a contender.

3. Washington: Edwards

-Wiz are not moving Wall, he is an anchor contract and they are married to it. I could see them giving in and trading Beal (BKN will be calling, offering LeVert/Dinwiddie/Allen) but either way, Ant is the pick here. Highest ceiling, another dude that can just get buckets. Dinwiddie/Ant/LeVert/Rui/Allen would be pretty sick, predicting that trade.

4. New Orleans: Okoro

-This is a super weird spot for NOLA. They have so many pieces and probably need to consolidate one way or another, but adding a premiere versatile defender with offensive upside seems like a good play. Lonzo/Ingram/Okoro/Zion/Jax for the future.

5. Cleveland: Avdija

-Provides a bit more playmaking and 2-way ability with core potential for CLE. Mess of a roster, but Deni can fit in pretty much anywhere.

6. Atlanta: Hampton

-Moonshot here, taking the best guard athlete in the class with immense speed/athleticism that you hope translates into great defense, despite poor defensive instincts. Trae/Hampton/Huerter or Hunter/Collins/Capela.

7. Detroit: Hayes

-Feels VERY wrong having Killian drop this far, and I would hope my Bucks would make an offer the Pistons could not refuse to take him here. If not, the *rebuilding* Pistons establish the Hayes/Doumbouya French connection.

8. New York: Anthony

-Knicks are looking for a scoring guard to take pressure off of RJ, and Cole does that. Cole/RJ/Knox/Randle/Robinson is, well, a team.

9. Chicago: Haliburton

-Adding some high IQ and playmaking to the Bulls is a welcome addition. Easy pick.

10. Charlotte: Wiseman

-Good spot to take a shot on James. Zeller/Biz getting phased out, rolling with Rozier/Graham/Bridges/Washington/Wiseman.

11. Phoenix: Maxey

-Strong POA and team defender, secondary playmaker, good fit next to Booker.

12. San Antonio: Bolmaro

-Pop can't pass up another Argentinian do-it-all wing, who partially replaces DeRozan.

13. Sacramento: Toppin

-BPA, weird fit next to Bagley, but weird is cool.

14. Portland: Williams

-Combo F from Florida State, great fit at the 3/4 for POR.

Leaves guys like Kira, Vassell, Poku, Nesmith, etc. Very much a FIT draft, IMO.

clyde is asking people to predict dudes, the ones you put out made no sense whatsoever in that vein

1. Minnesota: Edwards
2. Golden State: Avdija
3. Washington: Wiseman
4. New Orleans: Ball
5. Cleveland: Toppin
6. Atlanta: Haliburton
7. Detroit: Hayes
8. New York: Maxey
9. Chicago: Okoro
10. Charlotte: Anthony
11. Phoenix: Hampton
12. San Antonio: Williams
13. Sacramento: Okongwu
14. Porland: Vassell

That'd be my best guess at the moment

so how is the draft gonna be like if this situation will be going on by that time? no audience in the draft venue?, no workouts with the teams? any official decision yet?

Uh, watching them play?
I mean Hampton has this transition blocks but aside from that, he is garbage on defense at the moment, non physical too

Hampton and Hayes have both shown they can play passing lanes. Hampton can rim-protect. Hayes cannot. Hampton can also recover quicker than Hayes. What are you seeing that makes you think Hayes is better on that end of the floor?

Next question. Isaac Okoro or Devin Vassell?

Both solid defenders in their own right, but Okoro has more switchability in my opinion. He can probably guard 1-4 at the next level. Vassell will be able to guard the 1, 2, and some 3s, but Vassell has a superior offensive game.
