Re: Cameron Reddish
He actually has 51 points on his last 45 FGA plus some assorted free throws in a recent 4 game stretch. 38%fg/30%/78%. Not a completely terrible TS%, and hasn't been hot from three point land over that time.

Let's playin for 9th!

Re: Cameron Reddish
Whatever hot streak people think Reddish had for 3 gsmes, and it’s kinda sad when a TS% of around 50.0 is now considered a 3 game hot streak, he seems to have reverted back to his normal level of play again.
Reddish is just plain awful in every facet on the offensive end of the floor. There’s no sugar coating this.

if i was atl i would be firing somebody over that pick. but to utilize him well so he can have trade value they need to get the ball out of someone elses hands and that seems pretty unlikely barring injury. One positive note is they dont have to worry about it they have him under contract for a long time...maybe by his 3rd season he will be a man

You can’t create trade value for a bad player. He’s supposed to be a shooter but he’s currently 21% from behind the arc despite having 2 games where he was a combined 6-6, and he can’t make shots from anywhere else on the floor either. There’s nowhere they can put him to help make him look better than he’s shown. The most encouraging thing that happened last night was he only took 5 shots.

He played on ball when Young was out, he was even worse.

10 FGA/10.7 points in his last 5!
But honestly he's been offensively horrible so if he is even ummm merely quite bad bad that's something. I agree with you and personally think there's a pretty good chance's he a historicly horrible offensive player and that is his normal for his rookie season. Though there's a chance his points = FGA going forward, I don't know. That's still pretty bad obviously.
It could be incorrect to preemptively judge an underdeveloped, underskilled rookie from his first few games, though he clearly didn't produce any efficiency in college, so it kind of is what it is likely for now.

Re: Cameron Reddish
If this continues then they will have to reduce his usage and develop him as a Tony Snell type player. There’s no way they’ll allow him to continue putting shots up at a high enough rate to actually set any historical records.

Re: Cameron Reddish
I don't know if they want to destroy a young player's confidence by saying (and I'm referencing an old meme here): HeyCamReddishCanYouPleaseStopTakingSoManyBadShots? Sure, though he should probably be sticking to threes and trying to score on odd man rushes (sorry some hockey snuck in here I'm Canadian), but will he?
Anyways he's probably at least a 25-30% three point shooter in the nba and he's only 20% now, so his efficiency is very likely to improve. Sort of like tray young at the beginning of last year when he convinced the majority of realgm forums he couldn't shoot but he turned it around fairly nicely, a marginal or significant improvement is likely to come from reddish just given how bad he's been and how frequently likely open he should be. Even more so in college.
Anyways imagine how bad this guy might be doing if he were like OG Anunoby from the free throw line.

Re: Cameron Reddish
]^ this is Reddish having the best game of his career likely sort of like when t ross went off for 51 and nobody saw it coming. Reddish making 25 points against a team not at all expecting it is the same as Ross making 51 imo. hes never come close again to my knowledge.
Jan. 25, 2014, Ross dropped 51 against the Los Angeles Clippers 16 of 29, 10 of 17 3s
if reddish starts doing this regularly i would be shocked.

Re: Cameron Reddish
^ What I like about Red is that even though he is only averaging 25% from three, he still attempted 7 threes in last night's game.
Consistency will be an issue for Red but the same is said for all rookies. I'll be interested to see what his average is in the first half of the season compared to his average in the second half of the season. Like Trae ended up shooting 25% from three in the first half of the season but then ended up shooting 37% from three in the second half of the season.

This is one of the dumbest comments I’ve seen on this sub. He’s 19 years old in his rookie year. Historically there have been many 19 year olds with terrible first years who have become pretty darn good, even hall of famers. Games like these show what he’s capable of.

what is dumb is taking all the signs from college and his early career and thinking 1 average game for a good player is somehow indicative of what to expect going forward from a lousy player.
but he might get that usage if Hunter stays out so we will see if he can flip the script and become what he was hyped to be, but right now hes got 50 +outings of garbage production and 1 game in the light

Sorry, but I think you might need to surrender your screen name to the poster above. NO ONE at RealGM has more hate than that guy.
Player performs poorly: he sucks.
Player performs well: he sucks.

Once that kid makes up his mind...no level of success or production will ever move him off it.

This is the same poster you quoted who said he would take Yogi Ferrell and Aaron Holiday after Trae dropped 40 pts right now over Trae Young. This was in November of this year, not last year, this year. He is a full blooded hater.
