While I agree with some of your thoughts, though they seem to be rather pessimistic about his potential, but this information is just too old.

His current weight is 106 kg (well at least was so in may), which is 234 lbs.

Also that Kirsten19 guy seems to have a few screws loose in his head if he seriously believes ACB to be better than Euroleague.

ACB is the strongest home league in Europe where best Spain teams compete in, but Europe's strongest teams still compete in Euroleague as that's where champions from all major leagues (Spain, Greece, Italy, France, Lithuania, Russia etc) clash in.

Barcelona the champion of ACB couldn't even get into the semifinals of Euroleague.

Who would be a better pick for the Raptors: Jan Vesely or Jonas Valanciunas?

Jonas is better all round than Vesley and more NBA ready.
Jonas has both a offensive and defensive game and can shoot free throws.
Vesely has potential but lacks consistent offense and is a terrible free throw shooter.
He may be great but much more a gamble than Jonas

Depends on what position Raptors need the most.

If SF then Veseley if C then Valanciunas. If they need drive and penetrations - Veseley, if they need points in the paint, rebounding, hustle and defense (eventually as right now he is still too light to be perfect on his D despite his efforts) - then Valanciunas.

If you need a scorer - then neither (Donatas Motiejunas would be a good scorer but he is similar to Bargnani), but if you have to - Valanciunas again. Veseley can score but he is a piss poor shooter. Him making both FT's is like miracle. Valanciunas is more solid on that. Despite being claimed not having the range, the forced (as in time running out) shots he took - he made majority of them, despite being out of his comfort range, is a great 80-90% FT shooter too, meaning that him developing range could probably be more easy than Veseley. He also has great Pnr skills and offensive rebounding which should make scoring easier (specially paired up with with a well picknrolling PG).

When I look at Raptors I see that they need both major positions pretty bad - a good PG and a good C as Bargnani sucks balls in terms of rebounding and defending. SF would be good too but PG and C seems like the first two positions they should think to fill in first.

I read in an interview (I think it was on this site) that he said he was 6'9 w/o shoes, and to me, that's very disappointing. He may have a wide wingspan, but I don't know if that translate into a long reach for a center. His reach is very important to his future projection as a post defender.

I read too. But there is an error. Just a journalist made a mistake converting from one measurement system to another. Jonas with shoes is 7 foot big man and 7-4 wingspan :)

I'm always skeptical of "in shoes" heights because shoes they wear when they get measured aren't necessarily the shoes they wear when they play. Wingspans don't mean a whole lot to me when it comes to bigs, standing reach is far more important.

Combing back through my notes from Eurocamp. Valanciunas measured 7'0"/245 lb with a 7-4 wingspan & 9' 3" standing reach there.

Great measurements. Would have liked his wingspan to be two inches longer and his standing reach to be one inch better, but his weight is much better than expected.

wow Biyombo had standing reach an inch taller than Valanciunas, that was unexpected. But Biyombo is really raw though.

Well maybe if you changed his DNA slightly before being born you're perfect robot would have been made. C'mon son!

Biyombo was measured 6'8.31" barefoot. Thats about the same as Amare Stoudemire, Al Jefferson n Blake Grffin's height w/ shoes; and thats taller then K.Love(6'7.75"), Tyrus Thomas(6'7.5"), Turiaf(6'8"), Ilyasova(6'.75") and Chris Wilocx(6'8.25") even they're all listed at 6'10"

I dont believe in players' listed height. So height without shoes give us a beeter idea of how tall a player really is. Height without shoes + 1.5inch, should be about right

So Biyombo is acutally closer to 6'10" its not too much shorter than Valanciunas

Nice. That's very encouraging, but I still wonder if he can become much of a shot blocker.
