Looks like RJ is building off of that Louisville finish.

I agree. But something about RJ makes me think he’ll have to emulate Harden’s gimmicks.

And make no mistake, Harden relies on those gimmicks because he has to compensate for not being 7 foot like KD or having the shot making ability of Kyrie. You develop Harden’s abilities because you’re lacking preferrable abilities. Harden works in the regular season. KD and Kyrie work in the Conference Finals and Finals. The margins at that level are incredibly thin and refs swallow their whistles more.

I see a pretty clear ceiling for RJ’s skill development. And that will force him to learn how to spam high volume FTA’s.

eh, I don't really see the Harden comp, and he doesn't have to emulate Harden to be successful anyways.

He's much more DeMar DeRozan than James Harden. He's actually closer to Spurs Derozan than Raps Derozan I'd say, too.

R.J. is so much further in his development at this stage than DeMar was that it is impossible to say he has a lower tier ceiling. R.J. has a lot of Basketball and skill development left. I think he will be tremendous, I don't see DeMar, Harden, or Kobe.

I see a Kent Bazemore like right now with better skills. That's insane as a college freshman. He could be as good as anyone long term. I still feel he is more of a 2 than a 3

He missed both of the shots in the first clips, but these were the two best flashes he showed last night IMO. The passes were two of his best ones, too. He has to stay patient and let the play develop; otherwise, he forces **** shots.

That's the RJ I wanna see consistently. Didn't force much, played within the system, looked to set up his teammates. Amazing how good he can be when he's not a selfish ball hog.

I think Chicago is the best place for RJ...especially if they're trading Laivine

First time I have ever seen a college guy get 33/13/4 on 50% shooting and get trashed like he didn't show up. Me thinks expectations are silly in Twitter land.

His game isn't aesthetically pleasing and he doesn't shoot that well so people don't like it. Its alike like Harden to me. I watch all Houston games. His game is a lot like James. Better in some ways in terms of projection but shooting is where he will need to tremendously improve on the NBA level. He has good size and length for a wing. His change of directions is a lot like Luka. But he has iso abilities too and has a good first step. He is much much more skilled than everyone else on that court.

His game has some Harden but most importantly he is exactly what an angry Wiggins should have been.
People trash Wiggins and his contract but one of the reasons he still has value is that his potential is a MVP candidate.
RJ having Wiggins build, aggressiveness, will to succeed makes him a no-brainer pick I will pick him over MCL Zion.
Lamelo will be a future superstar Bull. Book it. Lavar for president!

RJ just needs to utilize his step back a little bit more I think. He is so used to being able to over power wing defenders that he doesn't really use it. Took one vs. UNC that got him a lot of space. Plus the rebounding in traffic is just great for a wing. He is really starting to pull his game together. Sometimes, as talented as he is, we forget how young he is and how meeting guys his equal physically is probably a little new.

Kind of reminds me of how Bagley seemed limited last year compared to in HS.

I never felt Wiggins was that skilled but his talent might be better than R.J. That said, like R.J., they are bigger wings

Personally, I wish there was a way the Bulls gave up the chance of a #1 for a guaranteed #2 pick if other teams agreed.
As good as Zion is, Bulls would be forced to sell WCJ on the pennies and not having a facilitator hurts a lot even if he becomes Wilt.
Any sane GM would be pressured to pick Zion otherwise risk losing their jobs and living off the streets if he popped off.
Maybe sell Lavine that fool's good for a top 10 pick and select Garland replacing that bum Dunn.
Garland/RJ/Otto/Lauri/WCJ makes the 2nd round if RJ shows his inner Harden/Wiggins.

I think best teams for RJ

Bulls
Hawks
Memphis

I think memphis is the perfect fit for him. Him and Jaren Jackson jr compliment so perfectly. And he can day 1 take over team

RJ is good passer. But the only guy who can shoot on duke is cam reddish. Even he is shacking.

O’Connell 5 3s tonight and RJ assisted on 4 of em

Hopefully O’connell Gets more mins cus jack white was horrible

RJ is an interesting fit on the Bulls.. though I don't really like his lack of defense, we already have a few not so good guys on that end as core pieces. I'm all in on Lavine and Lauri, so I'm not sure where RJ fits in with that. But if he's on the board he's likely our BPA.

R.J. is the #2 guy on our board. We need his ability to score and give us a #1 option outside of just Trae

I would hate trading Lavine to open space to a rookie. Lavine out of nowhere became one of my favorite players this year.

Yeah, I was wary early in the season but now he is the clear #2 just as Zion is the clear #1.

RJ has been playing very well, monster game for him last night! He's a solid #2 pick at this time and possibly even #1 if not for Zion's star power. He's a more versatile player than Zion but I can't see any team turning down the opportunity for Zion who's already a superstar attraction.
