How is Brad Beal a generic prospect? No one plays a traditional SG style anymore to the point where he's not generic at all.

Other than that

Quincy Miller- KD with post moves
Michael Gilchrist- Iggy
Lebryan Nash- monster
Tony Wroten- taller Rondo
Austin Rivers- Steph Curry
Anthony Davis- polished D. Favors

I think Tony Wroten will be the number 1 pick and is the best prospect in the draft. Totally off on the Rondo comparison. Wroten has Rondo's court vision ( maybe better), but he is no liability on offense. He is in fact a pass first pg that can really score the basketball that just happens to be 6'6.

He is a hit or miss player. If he has a great year at Washington ( which I think he will ) he will jumped to #1 on Mock Drafts . Much like Irving did this year. I mean a 6-6 -6'7 ( in shoes) PG that can handle the ball like Wroten that can pass the way he can pass. He is athletic, I can't recall every seeing a prospect like him before.

1. Wroten doesn't have even close to the court vision as Rondo.
2. Wroten has no jumper, even Rondo was a nasty scorer in highschool so...
3. As long as Drummond is here the dude won't be #1
but my list is:
1. Drummond- simple greatest prospect since Lebron IMO. Amare Howard.
2. Anthony Davis- could end up as KG lite
3. Jeremy Lamb- surprise... The dude is an awesome shooter and has potential to be a great defender. 6'5 7'0 wingspan. :o Rip Hamilton 4g
4. Wroten- dude has great court vision, but needs to make the simple plays. Tyreke Evans with better vision
5. Quincy Miller- dude is 6'10 and has great handles and can slash. Originally thought of him as KD, but he is more of an iso player. So... Poor man's Carmelo
Thoughts. I know I'm missing someone but can put my finger on who it is.

Bird would have won 4 rings with that team, in this weak ass era of basketball.

Of the guys I have seen my five going into the upcoming college seasonwould be:

1. A. Davis
2. B Mcadoo
3. J Sullinger
4. T. Robinson
5. M. Gilchrist

I need to see some improvement from Barnes and Perry before endorsing them. Never seen Miller or Drummond play. I also think Wroten is sleeper as a high pick.

Well more specifically I want to see an improvement in his ball handling and his finishing around the basket. And his numbers from the end of last year weren't that good.

http://espn.go.com/mens-college-basketb ... son-barnes

He had some good games but over a sample size of 6 games or so he doesn't look that good. That being said I have always thought improvement from year one to year two is among the most important things to pay attention to. Its just that I felt there were som pretty concerning things in year one some of which I'm not convinced is easily corrected like ball handling.

That game log doesn't include his games from the NCAA Tournament.

If Andre Drummond enters the draft, he's my definite number 1, but after him my top 5 would be

1: Anthony Davis
2: James McAdoo
3: Harrison Barnes
4: Jared Sullinger
5: Jeremy Lamb

it's very deep with talent, although IMO I only see Drummond and Davis as top tier prospects, the guys opposing defenses will game plan around and opposing offenses will be intimidated by because of their defensive tools. Everyone else seems like they all have all-star potential, but won't be "game changers" per se

Davis
Drummond
Beal
Sullinger
Your Choice: Barnes/McAdoo/Lamb

I don't think Robinson declares, if he does, he's lumped in with that last group.

Not sure about Beal but McAdoo staying back should make a lot of sense considering Barnes will look to make this his team this year and he's supposed to be playing SF but again....Barnes.

mcadoo's a PF in college and he's a PF in the pros. his ball skills and shooting skills arent good enough for him to play SF at any level anytime soon.

kabongo might stay to work on getting stronger but he'll be unopposed at texas from the get go.

rivers is another supposed top prospect who i think might stay another yr if he wants his game to mature. i think he'll need it.

the reason why i think beal might stay another yr is because the gators have a pretty deep back court. they could go to a 3 guard lineup which would open up more minutes, but they do have a bit of a logjam at the guard positions.

Not knocking your opinion but at 6'8 I'm willing to bet McAdoo is played as a SF in the NBA.

I mean besides projecting him as being like James Worthy (hall of fame SF)....sure he may do ok at the college level like a Beasley or Derrick Williams. But even his style of play doesn't remind me of a true legit PF. He's a tweener 9x out 10 they move them to the smaller position (like the aforementioned names).

Worst case scenario is I think he will be used like Josh Smith who yes I know ATL played as a PF for sometime but that's really not his position and everyone knows that. Hence why he has been reassigned to SF and why 90% of teams would put him there if he were on their roster. Not every SF needs to be able to handle like Lebron or Durant.

In addition almost any read up (done by professional scouts mind you) project him as a SF and liken his game to various SFs in the league.

I just wanna say in addition to that, if you're a coach and you look at the match ups....do you want him going up against:

a) At PF: Zbo, Amare, Bosh, Boozer, Griffin, Love, Drummond, Dirk or even on the lower level Blatche, Bargnani, Kaman, Kanter, Blair, Ibaka, Lee, Milsap....I'm sorry but 80% of them I think he's gunna get beat down on by the opposing PF.

b) At SF: (yes there's Bron, Melo and Durant that no one can guard) but then on the other high side Wallace, Smith, Gay, Marion, Iggy, Granger, Beasley, Williams, Artest then what Thorton, Lewis, Magette, Deng

When you put his 6'8-9' frame up, maybe it's just me but immediately I feel I much rather test him against him guard list (b) then get worked by (a).

-how are they even projecting him as a SF when he is neither a good shooter nor a good ball-handler?
-i dont see the james worthy comparison because again, he's not a good shooter or ball-handler. he's simply not as fluid with the ball as young worthy.
-beasley and derrick williams did ok in college? they dominated in college...at their best position, which is PF.
-mcadoo's style of play doesnt remind me of a true, legit SF either...whatever that means. he's at best right now using his length and athleticism to score on the interior a la josh smith.
-obviously everyone doesnt know that josh smith's true position is SF, otherwise he would be playing the SF position. josh is neither a good enough shooter or ball-handler to be a full-time perimeter player. josh doesnt have the lateral quickness to guard SFs full-time either unless he plays off all of them.
-no, not every SF needs to handle like lebron or durant, but they need to have above average perimeter/ball skills. mcadoo doesnt have that.
-i look at his game and say that he projects to be a tweener, who would be best used as a PF, his natural position. he has a solid frame, improving strength (looks around 230-235 lbs right now) over 7'1 wingspan and good hops. i dont think he'd be that undersized at the 4, but i do think he'd be under-skilled, lacking in lateral quickness, ball skills and natural instincts to be a 3. i guarantee that he'll spend the overwhelming majority of his time at UNC near the paint area, at the most the high post area. i'd rather have his length and activity in the paint on both ends of the floor.
