No it does not. Explain it in a correct context or just accept it is a misapplied nonsensical use of the term.

You can't see what he means from a sports perspective?

He means that Raptors fans, once stuck with a player, will irrationally convince themselves to start liking them even if they didn't before.

I think everything is pretty damn rational in regards to Ross, but it's certainly been true in the past.

Knicks fans are still the best at this though. I remember when Channing Frye was the next Duncan. Good times.

I thought he meant that because the Raptors continue to be so poorly run, it's as if they are "trapped" into following a shi**y and hopeless product - But then they lap up the team more than anyone else anyways - thus stockholme syndrome

It makes perfect sense. He's saying the Raptors hold their fans captive with their bad basketball, and that Raptors fans have grown so accustomed to their predicament, that they've started making excuses for all of their captors.

Not saying I agree with him (I might--that isn't the point), but It is a clever metaphor.

I guess anything can make sense in RealGM, regardless of how far off it is.

In response to your thread title, "Terrence Ross, steal?":

YES! I agree. Terrence Ross will have at least one steal during this season.

Let's see what he does against NBA players before calling him a steal.

Every fanbase has homers, but it is here on RealGM that Raptors homers get exposed since we have a large population on here. Really though can't say Terrence Ross is a steal out of the summer league games we've seen. Actually, he has played as what we have come to expect and that level of play is not a 'steal' at the 8th pick.
Looking for a new signature. Currently, still evaluating.

Do you want the GB to hate Jeremy Lamb? Coming up with tool nicknames is a good way to get us to hate agendas you are trying to push.

I can't believe how many people don't get the Mercy Lago reference or think it's misspelled.

Just take a break from that Katy Perry album you've been listening to and turn it to a hiphop station or BET for a few minutes and u should figure it out.

You don't even need to watch BET to get the reference actually.

Can't call a reach a steal.

Just means he got picked where he should of been projected.

This.

And no. Ross will end up another "meh" player, nothing special.

Not a steal, not a reach. Picked just right.
He won't be a go-to guy due to his average ball-handling, and he's also not a killer-scorer ala Durant or Melo.
He's a very good 2nd option on a balanced team, a classic two-way player. J-Rich, 6'7 Luol Deng, someone like that.
But in this draft, I don't see 1st options on offense. Maybe Lillard, but's that's a big maybe. Other than that, in this draft GMs chose mainly between great and very good 2nd options and some great 3rd options that fitted their team concept.
