What a load of nonsense. He may not be as good as Rondo but he has plenty of similarities.

Yeah, this scout or whatever probably has no idea what he's talking about. I doubt he's ever even posted on RealGM.

So, Schröder finished his workouts and flew back to germany. A short summary:

Houston:
He didn't participate at the combine in Chicago because of a tooth infection and the medication that comes with it. He still struggled because of it in Houston and was, apparently, outplayed by Phil Pressey and Ray McCallum.

Milwaukee:
Chad Ford wrote that he "struggled to keep up with the defensive intensity" in Houston and Milwaukee. Schröder himself said that it was his second best workout.
Bucks director of scouting Billy McKinney:
"Dennis is a very good defensive player and I think that's one of the things he's going to get better at,"
"He has a good all-around game."
McKinney said Schroeder is hardly a finished product at age 19.
"He has a tremendous chance to grow, not only as a player but in stature as well," McKinney said. "Physically he's going to get stronger as he competes with grown men now."

Boston:
I didn't read much about it. Schröder wrote that it was a "Very Good Workout for me", and ESPN writer Jared Zwerling wrote that Boston likes him. Doc was watching.

Dallas:
Apparently his best workout. Mavs were impressed, "better potential than Collison". But mind you, Mavs are heavily trying to shop their pick.

Philly:
???

Utah:
Schröder said he did well and that it was one of his best workouts.
Jazz Vice President of Player Personnel Walt Perrin:
"I thought he fought through some things. He struggled a little bit early, but he finished strong.
"He’s been to quite a few workouts, and he’s been away from home for a long time. I’m sure he’s getting a little bit homesick and probably a little tired. But, again, he fought through things and had a pretty good workout."
"He’s got the ability to get into the paint — get to the basket"
"He’s got good explosiveness off the dribble. … He’s got a lot of things he has to learn. But he’s got athletic skills."
“The only comparison in line with Rondo is body build: long arms, big hands"
“Rondo was not an offensive player except for getting to the basket. He couldn’t shoot the ball. I think Dennis is a better shooter at the same stage.”
As for defense, Perrin said there’s also no comparison. Rondo is far more accomplished.

Perrin also said that he has quickness & speed that you can't teach, has played against "Men" so he's tougher than some college guys this year.

___

Really don't know what to think of it right now. His stock rose quickly after the Hoop Summit. But now it seems as if the workouts don't help him to establish himself as a Top13/16 pick.
His agent denied the rumours about the first round promise.
Let's see.

I missed on the fact that this guy had elite shooting numbers in his league (40%+ 3 on a lot of attempts, 80%+ FT), that changes a lot of how I feel about him considering his physical tools

WT:
Sources: Dennis Schroeder Has Struggled In Workouts
Dennis Schroeder has returned to Germany after working out for the Dallas Mavericks, Milwaukee Bucks, Boston Celtics, Utah Jazz and Houston Rockets.

Sources say Schroeder's workouts haven't gone very well, with him struggling against more physical defense.

"He looked frustrated," one NBA scout said of Schroeder's workout with his team. "His body language wasn't great. He's a very good talent and I wouldn't read too much into the workout, but it didn't really help him."

I really wonder if these are accurate informations or just smoke screens. It's the 2nd time Chad Ford writes about it, and it wouldn't be the first time Ford is used primarily for misdirection this time of year, false info planted by teams. Why would any "source" be interested in letting Ford know that Schröder sucks?

Not saying Schröder was brilliant in his workouts (see above). But this summary (struggling against physical defense, frustrated, bad body language) seems to be misleading on purpose.

I do see some Reggie Jackson. I do see some Rondo. I do see some Avery Bradley. If he is anywhere near any of those 3 he worthy of lottery pick in this draft. If he anywhere near Rondo he will likely be the steal of the draft.

Maybe I am biased, but I see a lot of Brandon Jennings in him. Can shoot from the outside despite bad form but really struggles in the lane. Is super quick but not elite vision.
