Porter and Bagley have similar physicalities and position in the NBA.

They are built completely differently and by Bagley is by no means going to be a SF. He's a PF/C hybrid who plays primarily inside and has the physicality to do it consistently.

If bagley is a Davis - type and porter is a Durant - type, I'll take porter because that's where the NBA is going

That's a complete oversimplification, firstly because of the comparisons, mainly because Porter will never be a Durant level scorer, but also because of the oversimplification of the league and its' trends - bigs are still super important, it's just what we expect out of our bigs is evolving. Bagley is the total package of everything you would hope for in a modern NBA big man.

Porter is a really nice prospect, but Bagley is a 'unicorn' type. I'll take Bagley 10 times out of 10.

In my humble opinion, Porter would be the number one overall in a mediocre draft class but Bagley would be the first pick in a great draft class...he might just be a generational talent.

Bagley is basically a C sized player with SF skillset. That is scary.

Bagley is so damn good. I want him to be Bull. He is best prospect by mile in this class if goes on college.

Just on quick viewing NBA comparison could be Blake Griffin with his handle and jumper for a PF.

Pretty high chance of that not only because of how bad the East is but also the fact East teams own the next two first round picks from bad West teams. If Bagley enters the draft next year or the year after either the 76ers or the Celtics have a chance to get him via the Lakers (2018) or the Kings (2019).

The fact that he prefaced it by saying “Watched Marvin Bagley vs. Oak Hill“ and then went on to give his two cents on the matter with that sort of confidence is actually pretty funny. It's basically saying “I watched one game, now let me tell you exactly how good this player is“.

Hoping Celtics can land two top 5 picks to get 2 of Ayton/Bagley/Porter... that would be amazing

Looks a little tweenerish, not sure he's a generational talent, seems more like a really good one.

Supreme- wrote:reminds me of anthony randolph

If you took Anthony Randolph's talent and gave it to a player whose consistent motor is as highly-regarded as his athletic ability, that sounds about right. If he continues to add strength and develop his outside shot, Bagley's upside is something like peak Amar'e on offense and a better-rebounding Bosh on defense. Like seemingly every top prospect these days, Bagley's free throw percentage is in the 60s so his jumper is more theoretical at this point.

Was listening to a podcast with Gary Parish today and he said Bagley might reclassify to graduate early and not play college yet still enter the 2018 draft. Essentially what Diallo could have done except without even committing to a school. It's a new age.

He's visiting Duke this weekend. If he doesn't commit then (though they might keep it a secret for a while), I could see him then following the Diallo route or choose USC.

He's much more agile than Blake. His jumper is also much further along and he is also known for his defense which Blake never was.

I'm actually a big fan of Dean's hot takes. He doesn't get paid to scout. He is a self-employed basketball gambler. They are quite a few of these out there. Most famous guy everyone has heard of is probably Haralabos (Bob) Voulgaris.

Dean's track record is probably as good as it gets in terms of talent evaluation.

Bagley/Carter will be a monster front court. They will dominate the boards so much I don't think defense will be an issue. Bagley is like a more explosive version of Bosh.
