Yeah I like his game. He's the type of player I trust taking in the top 5.

People love Ivey around here and he really beat him badly in this matchup. Davis has been awesome in all Big 10 conference matcups.

Would probably be a sweet pairing with Cade but we really need one of the bigs I think. I honestly still don't really know what I would do with the top pick right now.

absolutely love davis as a player, but i'm not a huge fan of his shooting mechanics - and that is manifest in pretty average efficiency and long range shooting. but take those concerns out of the equation, his production and consistency have been lights out. such a good college player a pretty damn good nba prospect too.

lol. "not a huge fan" = bad mechanics. not sure i'm following you there. i guess if i say i'm not a huge fan of donovan mitchell (which is true despite being a jazz fan), it must mean i hate him in your mind. to be clear, as a jazz fan i don't hate my team's leading scorer.

my post was literally gushing about davis and you chose to nitpick the one thing i don't love about him (ftr, not loving does not equal hate) and not only nitpick that part but go beyond that and put words in my mouth - it's almost as if you want to be triggered.

I'm just pointing out that you criticized his shooting mechanics. I don't have a dog in this, I just think you need to clarify your point to the person that originally quoted you.

i'll ask again. where did i criticize his mechanics? by saying i'm not a huge fan of donovan mitchell, does that mean i'm criticizing him or that i don't think he's a great player? it's just personal preference.

You said, and I quote: "absolutely love davis as a player, but i'm not a huge fan of his shooting mechanics - and that is manifest in pretty average efficiency and long range shooting." What is it about his mechanics you don't like?

Yeah, he looks like he wants to be the best player on the floor every night, wants to win every game, changes speeds better than anyone else in college and he seems fundamentally sound in all aspects of the game. It's a top 5 combination for me.

Davis doesn't have bad mechanics shooting, but his dip after the catch feels a little slow and like there is some wasted motion or something. I haven't broken it down but maybe he dips the ball too low or something like that. Not a huge deal though.

His upside is better Bradley Beal. Not sure how that isn't a top 5 pick in this draft.

he's just very herky jerky/mechanical in his movements overall, not just shooting, he's a good athlete overall but not necessarily a smooth one with no wasted movements

I have him in the Top 10, but year he is definitely going off the board quick. A lot of mocks still have him late lottery but he looks like the type that would excel in work out.

Nice signature!

And I agree with you on Davis... rising quickly on everybody's boards.
