Keels came into Duke with reputation of a sharp shooter, wonder where that shot went.

Same. I had Maxey around 12 on my board I believe. I think the hesitancy with him was archetype. He's not big enough or a good enough shooter to be an off ball player, and there is only 1 "Lead" guard player. So if you arent quite good enough as a creator/passer or an elite scorer, you cap yourself out as a borderline playoff team at best.
I think Fox with the Kings is a good example.

If you are a ~55 TS & Less than 3:1 AST:TOV ratio lead guard, then you quickly cap your team and/or become a 6th man.

This Ndefo character intrigues me. If he can match up and hold Ivey to a relatively bad game, I will be a believer he can etch out a career strictly on his defensive versatility.

This week hasn't been kind to most top-rated prospects.

Jaden Ivey's game is traumatizing for someone who has watched too much Russell Westbrook.

Aside from Paolo being the clear #1 right now, the rest of the top are all so flawed. I know this shouldn't happen but getting the unknown man Sharpe is enticing.

6. Jaden Ivey

Tier 3- potential starters
AJ Griffin
Keegan Murray
Dyson Daniels
Bennedict Mathurin
Jalen Duren

Tier 4 - rotation pieces
Johnny Davis

- players in tier 3&4 are not ranked by order
- top 5 is pretty locked in for me at this point
- only thing thats changed for me over the last month or so is Paolo joining the top tier, and Duren moving up slightly

Glad to see neither of you have Agbaji in the lottery like so many mocks I see.

But yeah, this draft sucks.

Top 10 players roughly speaking, outcomes are based on average case.

Tier 1 (All-star, top 5 player at position)

Paolo Banchero
Chet Holmgren

Tier 2 (Low tier all-star)

Jabari Smith

Tier 3 (rough order) (Role player)

Shaedon Sharpe
Adrian Griffin Jr
Jaden Ivey
Jalen Duren
Keegan Murray
Bennedict Mathurin
Mark Williams

Overrated Tier:

TyTy Washington, this dude is an old sophomore basically, turns 21 this year as a Freshman.
Tari Eason, deserves a first round pick, no way should he go top 10.
Johnny Davis, I've been **** on Davis for months. Lunacy to consider him in the lotto. He is a 15-25 pick kind of player at best.

Why so down on Davis?
He does a lot of what a great scorer in the NBA does. Midrange operators usually eat better in the NBA than college. I am weighing him up with Ivey.

Is this a heavy emphasis on highschool play? I haven't found hardly any redeemable qualities about what he's shown at Michigan State. Think he should return to school.

He's an absolutely monstrous defender. Can guard every position and has some of the best shot blocking instincts I've seen in the college game. Would be a plus defender at the 4 in the NBA IMO. His offense has a long ways to go to be serviceable in the NBA though. If he could just shoot from the corner he could be playable, but the shot is not good right now. But I hope he gets a shot, and I'm sure after this run he'll at least play in the summer league or G league

part of it, part of it is archetype projection, he's got a beautiful, effortless J from all over the court and is wiry athlete, competes on both ends, I can see a path to success as a 3/D type. in this class that's a bet i'm willing to take in the 5-10 range.

yea, i really don't get this - what's the thought process behind having Ivey top10 but not Davis? similar archetypes, there are also very specific things that Davis does better than Ivey, i.e. rebounding, better at the FT line, better on-ball defender, commits less turnovers per usage/minutes.

really, biggest differentiator for Ivey is just the wiry athleticism and is just faster overall, but other than that I can't reconcile how Ivey can be rated so much higher than Davis.

what? your question about my big board changing since the tournament?

no, 2 games don't change my big board. you should submit that to your work to NBA teams.
